With mock examinations approaching, we're inviting all Year 11 students and their families to our GCSE Revision Evening!

📅 Thursday 22nd October
🕒 3.30pm–4.30pm

Come along with your child to discover practical ways to make revision more effective and manageable.

⭐ Try different revision techniques
⭐ Get subject-specific advice from our teachers
⭐ Find out how to prepare for mock examinations
⭐ Discover how families can support revision at home

We know that Year 11 is an important year, and we're here to help every student feel confident, prepared and supported.

🐾💙 Meet Louie – Our Newest School Dog! 🐶

We are delighted to introduce Louie, Mrs Chubb’s lovely dog and another member of our growing MAP school dog family!

Louie enjoyed his very first day at Marine Academy Plymouth on Friday, and it was wonderful to see the smiles he brought to our students! 🐾 Our school dogs are just one of the ways we help create a warm, welcoming and supportive environment where students feel happy, safe and that they belong at MAP. 💙

🌟 Exceptional Results. Endless Possibilities. 🌟

We are incredibly proud to celebrate another set of outstanding achievements across our school and sixth form! 🎓

📚 The highest English GCSE results in the city! Our English results are officially the highest of any non-selective school in the city, significantly above both the city and national averages. A third of our students achieved grades 7–9 in GCSE English — a result nearly as high as that achieved by grammar schools.

📈 Strong foundations for future success! The proportion of our students achieving both standard and strong passes in English and maths is above the national and city averages and is the best in West Plymouth!

🎓 Sixth Form success! We are delighted to have achieved the best sixth form progress in the city, with average grades matching those achieved in our city’s grammar schools.

These results tell a powerful story: ambition, exceptional teaching, hard work and a school community where young people are supported to achieve their very best.

But behind every statistic is something even more important: a young person growing in confidence, discovering their potential and opening doors to their future. 💫

We couldn’t be prouder of our students, staff and families who make these achievements possible.

Tomorrow, we're coming together as a school community to show that racism has no place at MAP!

Our Be Kind value is at the heart of everything we do, and tomorrow is another opportunity to celebrate our differences, show respect and remind everyone that they belong.

🔴 A reminder for students: You should still wear your normal school uniform, but we'd love you to add a red accessory to show your support!

This could be a red scarf, hair accessory, socks, ribbon, badge or wristband.

We can't wait to see our MAP community showing their support tomorrow!

❤️ Show Racism the Red Card Day – Friday 16th October! ❤️

At Marine Academy Plymouth, one of our core values is Be Kind. This means treating everyone with respect, celebrating our differences and making sure every student feels welcome, valued and that they belong.

This Friday, we are supporting Show Racism the Red Card Day to remind our students that racism has no place in our school or our wider community.

We want our young people to understand that kindness is more than just being friendly. It's about standing up for others, challenging discrimination and making sure everyone feels included. ❤️

🔴 How can students get involved?

All students should wear their normal school uniform, but we are inviting them to add a red accessory to show their support! This could be a red hair accessory, scarf, socks, ribbon, badge or wristband.

It's a small gesture, but an important opportunity to stand together and show what our MAP community believes in.

Starting secondary school is a big step, and we want every child to feel that they belong.

At Marine Academy Plymouth, each year group has its very own Hub, with dedicated learning spaces, outdoor areas and a pastoral team who get to know the children they support.

For our Year 7 students, this has made such a difference in helping them settle, build friendships and feel part of Team MAP! 💙🧡

🏫 Still considering your secondary school choices for September 2027.

Year 7 & 8 Families – We Can't Wait to Welcome You! ⭐

We're really looking forward to welcoming our Year 7 and Year 8 families into MAP this Thursday 15th October for our Meet, Celebrate & Connect Family Evening!

It's a chance to celebrate the fantastic start our students have made, see some of the brilliant learning taking place, meet your child's tutor and Year Team, and find out more about life at MAP.

We would love students to come along with their families and show off what they're proud of! 🌟
