The Green Games Competition 🌍🏆 was launched 🚀 at CSW’s All Staff Day September 2023 to empower, educate and encourage staff and our wider network to make sustainable person and planet friendly changes.
10 teams (named after herbs 🌿) competed over 5 categories to record and share green actions to earn points for their teams. Team members were assigned across the company to encourage and facilitate communication between colleagues that do not necessarily work with each other day to day via their herb team Teams channel.
Colleagues recorded a whopping 416 green actions that support the planet 🌍, their communities 👨👨👧👦👨👩👧👦👩👩👦👦👩👧👨👦👦, and their wellbeing 🕉.
Staff were so motivated, recording a monumental 291,753 exercise minutes 🥵, which is 4,862 hours! That’s over 200 days!
The Reduce/Reuse/Recycle ♻category encouraged the use of reusable bags, cups/bottles and the Refill app, with 101 actions recorded.
Staff recorded their volunteering efforts, virtual coffee breaks/check ins and upcycling efforts under the Team 🏅category, with staff recording a total of 103 actions.
The Wellbeing category encouraged walking meetings, plants 🌵 in the workspace and learning and sharing new skills, with 63 actions recorded.
Colleagues recorded their efforts to encourage and sustain biodiversity (installing birdfeeders, hedgehog highways, insect hotels and more), growing edible plants, counting pollinators 🐝🦋 and sharing healthy meals in the Sustain category, with 149 actions recorded.
