Thousands of phones in Plymouth will receive a test emergency alert on Wednesday as part of a routine safety exercise for Devonport dockyard.

📱 The test helps agencies prepare for the unlikely event of a radiation emergency.
💊 Some nearby homes may also receive leaflets to simulate the distribution of stable iodine tablets.
✋ No action is needed if you receive a text alert or leaflet.

Changes to our enquiry line hours

For the next few weeks, from the 8th of June until the end of the summer term, we will be opening our enquiry line on reduced hours. It will still be open Monday to Friday, but we can currently only offer a service for a half day. These will be the opening hours:

Monday – Wednesday 10am to 1pm
Thursday – 1pm-4pm
Friday – 10am to 1pm

We are very sorry to have to do this when we know that demand is high and many families are struggling, but we are currently operating with reduced staff capacity. We are still responding to contact forms within a few days, and we will always try to accommodate requests to avoid times when you can’t take a call back.
