Royal William Yard The Royal William Yard in Plymouth. A great place to visit, enjoy, work in and live. Visit for nothing, buy stuff, invest in home or business.
(1204)

Constructed between 1825 and 1831, the Royal William Yard is steeped in history and considered to be one of the most important groups of historic military buildings in Britain and the largest collection of Grade I Listed military buildings in Europe. A Plymouth landmark, the Royal William Yard has become the most prestigious address in the City for both residents, the hospitality industry and offi

ce occupiers alike. The Royal William Yard is the most exciting mixed-use development in Plymouth, situated on a 15-acre site with dramatic views over the Hamoaze to Cornwall and, from the adjoining Devils Point Park, across Plymouth Sound. As well as fantastic architecture and amazing views, the Yard boasts a cafe, restaurants, bars, shops and gallerys. There is an on-site marina offering berthing and mooring on a daily, weekly or monthly basis, as well as an hourly water bus service between the Yard and the Barbican, a novel way for visitors to travel to the Yard. There is also a bike and paddleboard hire available. The award-winning redevelopment of the Royal William Yard is being undertaken by Urban Splash. Work to start dismantling the exclusion zone around Evolution Cove will start from this evening after both the Council and Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service deemed the building safe enough for residents to return.

Our highways team will be on site to begin dismantling the traffic management system as well as remove fencing around the exclusion zone.

As there is a significant amount of fencing around the exclusion zone along with cones, cabling and signals that need to be removed, this is expected to take some time. We are aiming for the zone to be removed by 8am tomorrow morning.
Thanks everyone for bearing with us

Bus services will return to the RWY Royal William Yard on the Stonehouse Peninsula from this Saturday – in time for the popular monthly good food and craft market.

We are subsidising a shuttlebus, the 34A, that will serve all stops along Union Street between the Octagon and Stonehouse Roundabout – the stops that are currently used by the service 34. The 34A will then continue to Royal William Yard via the signposted diversions.

Plymouth Citybus will deploy a 24-seater, fully accessible shuttle bus to run every 30 minutes from 7am to 7pm seven days a week.

To avoid a repeat of the situation that happened last week where a goods vehicle got jammed on the Stonehouse peninsula, Plymouth City Council has just introduced a restriction on vehicle size. This does not impact on emergency service vehicles which will still have access.

🍷It’s business as usual here at Le Vignoble🍷

The road diversion can’t stop us, and it shouldn’t stop you!

If you don’t want to drive or take a taxi to the yard, buses stop just outside of Princess Yachts - a nice little 15 minute walk where you can take in the fresh air and, you’re here🍾🥳

Partial road closures and diversions in place.

🚦 Temporary traffic lights – Durnford Street 🚦

Please wait for the green and don’t drive through the red light.
If a red light is jumped, the system forces all lights to red until it can reset, which leads to extra congestion and delays for everyone.

Thank you for helping keep traffic moving safely 👍

We are aware of a problem this afternoon which has created yet more traffic issues on the Stonehouse peninsula.

A large vehicle got stuck on site earlier today. Staff had to revert all lights to red and the traffic built up further as a result. This has now been resolved but we accept we are still having issues which is distressing for businesses and residents trying to get in and out of the peninsula.

We have now deployed staff on site from 7am until 7pm to manually operate the lights.

We are working on additional measures to help improve the traffic flows.
