The 'Hoe Village' Community HUB A Community page for residents and friends of Plymouth Hoe's Community. The 'Hoe Village' is the Conservation Area of Plymouth Hoe.

This strong and active community make every effort to protect the Hoe Conservation Area and look after it for future generations. If you live on The Hoe and would like to be part of our proactive community group, then come along and join the Hoe Conservation Area & Residents Association ( HCA&RA ). We meet monthly, on the first Tuesday of each month. If you would like further details please send a message.

Philatelist Stanley Gibbons was born in Plymouth. The son of a chemist who's shop was on a narrow road that ran down behind the Kings Head Pub in Bretonside. Stanley Gibbons' last home in Plymouth, before he moved to London, was at the end of Alfred Street which was bombed during WWII. There is a blue plaque on the brick wall of the flats facing Alfred Street.
