Young Plymouth Police Cadets took part in an operation recently when they tried to buy knives from local shops. The test purchase visits to nine retail premises were part of the national Sceptre awareness week to tackle knife crime and keep communities safe. Officers from the Plymouth Child Centred Policing Team organised and took part in the operation and were joined by two police cadets aged 15 and 16. It is illegal for shops to sell knives to anyone under 18.

PC Deb Hart explained: “The two teenage police cadets attempted to buy knives from the shops and were exceptional in their delivery and confidence. This operation was a brilliant collective team effort from all involved. We covered nine locations in the city and on the outskirts including independent shops and high street chains. Only one shop failed the test purchase with eight shops passing the process. We would like to thank the shop staff for their co-operation."
The shop that failed to ask for ID and make checks would have potentially sold a large pair of kitchen scissors to the cadets. Police will continue to work with retailers to raise awareness of the law around knife sales. For more information visit our website https://orlo.uk/rqHkm

Tackling Anti-social behaviour on Mutley Plain

The Mutley Neighbourhood Policing Team recently met with traders from Mutley Plain alongside local councillors to discuss ongoing concerns around anti-social behaviour in the area.

It was a positive and productive meeting, giving everyone the opportunity to share concerns, discuss current issues, and look at how we can continue working together to ensure Mutley Plain is a safe place for businesses, residents and visitors.

We spoke about the proactive work already taking place and the additional steps being taken to tackle anti-social behaviour, including high visibility patrols, partnership working and intelligence-led policing.

We remain commited to listening to the community and working closely with partners to address the issues that matter the most.

If you have concerns or information relating to ant-social behaviour in the Mutley Plain area, please continue to report it to us on 999 in an emergency or 101 in a non emergency.

Hello All,

We would like to update you on the positive efforts we are making in your community. Recently, there have been significant issues related to anti-social behaviour (ASB), which have been adversely affecting local businesses. To address this, we have been issuing ASB warnings and Section 35 Dispersal Orders to individuals contributing to ASB in the City Centre and Waterfront areas.

Specifically, we have been targeting those who frequently obstruct local businesses and cause harassment, alarm, or distress in or around these areas. Today, we attended the bottom of New George Street (Plymouth City Centre), where we cleared away debris blocking a shop doorway and tidied the area, making it safer and more welcoming for everyone.
We are aware of the ongoing challenges in this area, but as a proactive force, we are committed to tackling these issues head-on. We will continue our efforts to maintain a safe and inviting environment in the City Centre and Waterfront, delivering the standards you all expect.

Plymouth Waterfront!

The sun's out, the tide is high (well in a few hours anyway) and over the weekend we've already began to receive reports of 'Tombstoners'

Tombstoning is when a person jumps from a height into water. Tombstoning is not a crime and on it's own is not considered anti-social behaviour (ASB).

However, some of the reports we receive do constitute ASB and as we have previously demonstrated we will continue to identify, address and impose appropriate sanctions on those contributing to ASB on the waterfront.

The waterfront is a wonderful part of our city and we want young people to access and enjoy it, but sadly elsewhere in the country this weekend several young lives were lost following water based incidents.

Parents, please consider discussing the following with your children:

- BE SAFE
Check for hazards in the water
Check the depth of the water
Never jump whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs
Check for access and egress
Consider the risk to yourself and others

-BE RESPECTFUL and CONSIDERATE
Think about your how your behaviour may impact those around you
Don't swear
Be respectful if asked to stop or move away from an area

-DON'T TRESPASS
Do not go somewhere you should not
If you are going into businesses or onto private properties without permission you are trespassing

If you witness any form of anti-social behaviour (this is behaviour that causes another to feel harassed, alarmed or distressed) you can report to the police via 101 or by clicking the "Report" button on our website and using the "Report antisocial behaviour" form. This ensures that it's recorded properly on our systems and reaches the right people. You can also report ASB to Plymouth City Council.

We will continue to work closely with PCC, the Harbour Masters, Plymouth Sound National Marine Park Rangers and MOD.

🚨 3 Year Criminal Behaviour Order… SERVED! 🚨

Chloe YORATH (21) of WERRINGTON DRIVE, CALLINGTON has been issued a CBO under S.331 of the Sentencing Act 2020.

This court order was issued by Plymouth Crown Court on 15/05/26 in response to a series of anti-social and criminal incidents, most recently pleading guilty for homophobically aggravated public order offences within Plymouth City Centre.

This order has the following conditions:

• YORATH is prohibited from entering any shop or premise that is part of the Plymouth Against Retail Crime (PARC) scheme.

• YORATH must not remain or loiter outside any private or commercial premise in Plymouth if asked to leave by the owner, security guard, staff member, Police Officer, PCSO or PARC ranger.

• YORATH must not be found in the company of Skye LAMBOURNE within the boundary of the map agreed.

This is the second CBO YORTAH has been issued.

The initial CBO (which remains in place until March 2027) bans her from entering Tavistock following a series of anti-social and criminal activity.

YORATH has been causing significant issues to retail businesses and staff within Plymouth City Centre. We would like to thank you for your patience whilst this CBO application has been progressed and hope this will prevent further issues arising. We encourage the reporting of any breaches.

We will take robust action if these conditions are breached or further offending continues within our city.

Whilst out on routine foot patrol in Greenbank today, PCSO SOUCH and Neighbourhood Beat Manager PC STIDWILL were approached by Roger, who had unfortunately forgotten where he'd parked his car.

Using their neighbourhood knowledge, the officers scoured the surrounding areas of Greenbank and eventually located Roger's beloved Rover 200.

One happy Roger and two happy officers!

Have you lost your Witch?

During a public engagement event in the City Centre today, we seem to have picked up a new team member.

We've affectionally called her Chloe and granted her temporary Police powers to disperse anti-social behaviour and seize alcohol under the PSPO.

If you're missing your Witch, please let us know and we'll endeavour to get her back to you.
