Fantastic to see camaraderie and teamwork from RNR units across the country, as they come together for the annual Sailing Exercise in the Solent.

Recently promoted! 🎉

On completion of their fleet board, passing the final stage in their Initial Naval Training, Midshipman Josh, Lewis and Emily received their first stripe to Sub-Lieutenant.

They now move onto their Phase 2 training for Divisional Officer and Junior Officer Leadership Course.

What a fantastic achievement! Congratulations!

Commodore Moores OBE visited HMS Vivid last term to meet ship's company and witness various training elements taking place during the drill night. During his visit, Cdre Moores awarded personnel for their service and other nominations.

Medal Awards:

🎖️NATO Article 5 Kosovo Medal & Volunteer Reserve Service Medal (VRSM) - Lt Mark

Joining the Royal Navy in 1986, Lt Mark has served in various establishments, ships and submarines throughout his career. Beginning as a Stores Accountant, he then moved onto the Submarine Service. Transferring to the Royal Naval Reserve as a WO1 in 2017, he was promoted to Lieutenant in 2023 via the Warrant Officer Commissioning Scheme.

During his time in the Reserves, Lt Mark has conducted roles within Carrier Strike Group, Accelerated Programmes for Ratings & Officers, as well as the Training Delivery SO3 within the Training Branch.

Lt Mark has been presented with the NATO Article 5 Kosovo medal to recognise participation in Operation Allied Force, between March & June 1999.
The VRSM is awarded for 10 continuous years of efficient service in the Royal Naval Reserve.

CO HMS Vivid, Cdr Crossey, awarded two members of ship's company the Commanding Officer's Coins for Excellence. These individuals were cited for their excellent high standards in everything they do.

🪙 Mrs. Statham consistently goes above and beyond her standard duties to ensure that every member of the Unit and the broader Maritime Reserves feels supported, valued, and connected.

🪙 CPO Duncan is recognised for the dedication and enthusiasm he brings to organising unit events, raffles and social activities. His efforts have made a significant contribution to unit morale, fostering a strong sense of camaraderie and community among personnel.
