OPEN ACCESS AT HONICKNOWLE

📢 For this week only, our Open Access Session at Honicknowle will be on Friday from 3pm to 5pm. From next week, we’ll be back to our usual day and time.

Come along and get musically creative in our Vibe Room, enjoy gaming in our Esports Room, get crafty in our Creative Arts Room, or simply chill out with your friends. There’s something for everyone! 😊

🏊 HONICKNOWLE OPEN ACCESS SUMMER PROGRAMME 🏊

For the final week of our summer programme, we took a group of young people from Honicknowle Youth & Community Centre to one of our all-time summer favourites, Splashdown Quaywest!

They had a fantastic day making the most of the sunshine, enjoying the flumes, and spending quality time together while building friendships and creating great memories ☀🍉🏖

🍍YOUNG CARERS SUMMER PROGRAMME🍍

For week four of the summer programme we held a fun day Honicknowle Youth & Community Centre where the young carers had an action-packed afternoon filled with creativity, competition and plenty of fun!

They had the chance to make music in The Vibe Room, battle it out in some competitive team games and get creative at our pop-up nail bar. And of course, no summer afternoon would be complete without some delicious BBQ food, fresh fruit and a good old-fashioned water fight in the sunshine! ☀🍉

From exploring the National Marine Aquarium, getting creative at Colour Drench Studio, painting canvases (and each other) to ending the summer with an evening on Plymouth Hoe with chips, laughter and fun!

🌊 WOW… what a week! ☀️🙌

It’s been Activities Week at Mount Batten this week, and what an amazing few days we’ve had!

Young people from Boundless, Poole Farm, Efford Youth & Community Centre, alongside young people we engage with through our street-based Detached Youth Work, have all had the opportunity to get involved in a range of activities at Mount Batten. 🌊🚣‍♀️

It’s been brilliant seeing young people trying something new, challenging themselves, building confidence, learning new skills and, most importantly, having fun! 💪👏

For some, it was their first time taking part in activities like these – and they absolutely smashed it! ⭐

A huge thank you to Ameerah, Emily and Mackenzie for being outstanding as peer mentors throughout the week, providing encouragement, support and positive role modelling to other young people.

A huge thank you to everyone at Mount Batten for supporting our young people throughout the week, and to our youth workers for making it all happen.

🌈 HONICKNOWLE OPEN ACCESS SUMMER PROGRAMME🌈

During week three of the summer holidays, we hosted a festival-themed day packed with fun activities at Honicknowle Youth & Community Centre. Young people enjoyed an afternoon of old-school party games, a pop-up nail bar, tie-dye T-shirts, festival-themed activities, glitter face art, BBQ food and music.

It was a fantastic opportunity to get creative, enjoy the sunshine and have plenty of fun together! ☀

🎢 YOUNG CARERS SUMMER PROGRAMME 🎢

For week three of the summer programme we took our young carers to Woodlands Theme Park for a fun-filled day of rides, slides and adventure! It was a fantastic opportunity for young people to build friendships, push themselves outside their comfort zones on the taller rides and simply enjoy being a child without the responsibilities they often carry for a day ☀

We also had the unique experience of arriving just moments after a calf had been born in the zoo area. Witnessing this incredible, once-in-a-lifetime moment alongside the keepers was truly special and sparked some fascinating conversations with the young people about birth and new life 🐄
