Warning 💊 | Dangerous fake weight loss drugs and other medicines

Tempting as it may be to save money, using fake online pharmacies puts you at risk of serious harm – check that any pharmacy you use is legitimate at the link at the end of this post.

Fake online pharmacies can dispense medicines that are inappropriate, ineffectively dosed, or even counterfeit. These counterfeit medicines can include seriously dangerous substances such as cement and even arsenic.

It's vitally important to make sure that any pharmacy you use is registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.

How to check an online pharmacy:
1. Find the pharmacy's GPhC registration number on its website.
2. Search for the pharmacy on the official GPhC register.
3. If the pharmacy is not listed, do NOT use it.

APPEAL | Dashcam footage sought following car theft, Plymouth

Officers investigating the theft of a motor vehicle are appealing for dash cam footage from users of Stonehouse Creek car park in Stonehouse, Plymouth.

The incident happened in Stonehouse Creek car park between 6.40am and 7.30am this morning, Monday 12 October.

The vehicle, a red Vauxhall, was taken from the car park and officers would encourage anyone with information or dash cam footage to come forward and contact us via 101 or online, quoting crime reference 50260273619.

Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at its website or by calling freephone number 0800 555111.

🚔🐶 Operation Paw and Order 🐶🚔

Officers from Charles Cross Neighbourhood, Plymouth North Neighbourhood and Special Constable colleagues were joined by PC Warren and PD Jasper, one of our passive drugs dogs, outside local clubs during a proactive operation this weekend.

While most people were simply enjoying their night responsibly, a few individuals received some unwanted attention from our canine colleague. Several positive indications led to further searches and appropriate police action.

If you're heading out, please remember: our dogs don't care if you've hidden it in your sock, pocket, wallet, or any other ‘clever’ hiding place your mate suggested.

PD Jasper has asked us to remind you all that he’s very good at sniffing out drugs but can’t smell those excuses!

Thanks to everyone who enjoyed their evening responsibly and helped make the night a safe one.

Darcy, our police welfare dog, joined PC Sheldon and PC Veale at Estover Library, where she had a lovely time meeting the children from Plymbridge Nursery. 🐶

Visits like this are a wonderful reminder of the importance of welfare, wellbeing and positive relationships within our communities. Darcy has a very special role in supporting neighbourhood policing, helping to create a friendly and approachable connection between our officers and the people we serve. For children in particular, meeting Darcy can help make conversations with police officers feel more relaxed and positive, while also providing an opportunity to talk about looking after ourselves, our friends and our community. 💙
A huge thank you to Estover Library and the children and staff at Plymbridge Nursery for making Darcy feel so welcome. We think she may have been the most popular visitor of the day! 🐾📚

Freshers’ Fair at Plymouth Marjon University! 🎓

PC Sheldon and PC Temple-Smith were pleased to attend Plymouth Marjon University’s Freshers’ Fair, meeting new and returning students as they start another academic year.
It was a great opportunity to introduce ourselves as your local community police officers, have a chat with students, answer questions and let everyone know that we’re here to support the university community.
Starting university is an exciting time, and we want students to feel welcome, safe and confident knowing who they can speak to if they need help or advice. Whether you’re new to the area or returning for another year, please don’t hesitate to come and say hello when you see us out and about. 👋

As children return to school, we are asking everyone to play their part in keeping the roads around our schools safe.
Parking too close to school entrances, on zig-zag lines, pavements or near crossings can reduce visibility and make it difficult for children to safely see and be seen when crossing the road.
Please remember:
🚗 Park responsibly and legally – avoid stopping where restrictions are in place.
👀 Keep crossings and junctions clear – give children the best possible view of approaching traffic.
🚸 Slow down and stay alert – children can be unpredictable, particularly at busy drop-off and pick-up times.
🚶 Encourage safe crossing – remind children to use designated crossings.
🤝 Think safeguarding – a few extra minutes walking can make a significant difference to everyone’s safety.
Our priority is the safety of children, families and the wider school community. By parking considerately and driving responsibly, we can all help make the journey to and from school safer.
Please park with care. Protect our children. Keep our school communities safe.

Bank Holiday! | Have a safe TRIP

Whether you’re leaving the south west or coming to visit, have a safe and enjoyable summer holiday road trip.

Follow the T.R.I.P. checks every driver needs to perform to keep themselves, their passengers and other road users safe.

TOP UP your fuel or battery, oil and screen wash
REST with planned stops of at least 15 minutes every two hours
INSPECT tyre pressure, tread depth and for cracks or tears before setting out
PREPARE for all weather conditions…it may be very hot, or we may have rain and thunderstorms

We’ll add that SPEED limits are there for your safety, they are not a target. Drive within the limit and to prevailing road, weather and traffic conditions. So, TRIPS: as easy to remember as TRIP.
