🕷️🕸️ **Meet Laura the Spider!** 🕸️🕷️

It all started when the children spotted a spider on our wall and decided to name her Laura! 🤍 This sparked the children's curiosity and interest, so we followed their lead and created lots of fun, spider-themed learning activities.

The children loved our spider web rescue activity, using the pincers to carefully pick up the little spiders and rescue them onto the web. 🕷️ This was a fantastic way to develop their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and pincer grip.

We also explored lots of positional language, including ‘on top, underneath and under’, as the children carefully placed the spiders in different positions around the web. We counted how many spiders we found and the spiders' legs too, discovering that spiders have eight legs! 🕷️ 🔢

It's wonderful to see how something as simple as spotting a spider can spark so much curiosity, conversation and meaningful learning. By following the children's interests, we've turned Laura into a whole web of exciting learning opportunities! 🤍🕸️

🦷✨ We are officially Oral Health Champions!✨🦷

We’re so excited to share that our staff team have successfully completed their ⭐️ Oral Health Champions training ⭐️! 🎉

We’re now getting ready to introduce our
⭐️ supervised tooth brushing programme ⭐️ here at the setting, helping our children develop healthy habits from an early age. 🪥😁

We can’t wait to get started and brush our teeth together! 🤍

Thank you so much for all your support this term! 💚 We especially want to thank you for your understanding with all the mud! 😂 The children have had the best time and so much fun, and we’ve tried our very best to keep them as clean as possible — but at least you could see they’ve had a fantastic time! 🌿🪣

Our trustees and committee have been very busy during the holidays working on a little surprise for the children… 👀 We have new grass in the garden and a communication-friendly shaded area hut, and we can’t wait for you all to see it!

We look forward to welcoming everyone back to Playdays on **Thursday 3rd September**. 🌞

Tonight was the most wonderful send-off for our Playdays graduates, and my heart is so full. 🤍

A huge thank you to all of our amazing children, families, and staff for making this evening so special. It was the perfect way to celebrate such a fantastic group of children as they get ready for their next adventure.

Watching each and every one of you grow has been an absolute privilege. We are so proud of everything you have achieved, and we know you will all go on to do amazing things at big school. Although we will miss you all so much, we can't wait to see what the future holds for each of you.

To help us celebrate our wonderful graduates, if you have any photos of your child that you would be happy for us to share on our page, please email them to us. We'd love to create a special graduation post to celebrate this milestone and the memories we've made together.

What a wonderful way to keep cool in this hot weather today! 💦☀️ The children have had so much fun enjoying water play under the cover in the shade outside, splashing, exploring, and making happy memories together. It's the perfect way to stay cool while learning through play. Don't forget to stay hydrated and enjoy the sunshine safely! Have a lovely weekend everyone 💙😊

Today we extended our learning through the story of ‘The Three Little Pigs!’🐷📚

The children had a wonderful time working together to build their own house of bricks. They explored different ways to stack and balance the bricks, developed their teamwork skills, and used their imagination to bring the story to life.

It was fantastic to see their creativity, problem-solving, and communication skills shine as they discussed how to make their house strong enough to keep the wolf out! 🧱🐺

A fun and engaging way to build on our story while supporting learning through play! ❤️

It has been so hot today, and we are incredibly thankful to all of our staff and the wonderful way the children coped with the heat.

A special thank you to one of our lovely parents who kindly brought in ice creams for everyone. The children and staff absolutely loved the treat!

☀️ Heatwave weather update ☀️

We are getting daily guidance from the government regarding safe working with young children. We will ensure that we take extra precautions to keep children safe, including regular drinks, shaded play areas and quieter activities during the hottest parts of the day.

Please ensure you provide:

Ice packs in their lunch boxes 🍎

A sun hat 👒 🧢

Have sunscreen already applied before arrival

Spare summer clothes - (plenty due to extra water play! Even swim shorts/ suits if preferable for accessing water play!)

Signs of heat exhaustion or heatstroke can include:

• Excessive tiredness or lethargy
• Dizziness or headache
• Feeling sick or vomiting
• Hot, flushed skin
• Confusion or unusual behaviour
• High temperature

If your child shows any of these symptoms at home, please keep them cool, encourage fluids and seek medical advice if needed.

If you are planning to keep your child at home due to the heat, please let us know by phoning or emailing us ☀️
