Better known as the 'Air Cadets', we’re a UK-wide cadet force with more than 40,000 members aged between 12 (if you are in Yr8) and 20 years. We're sponsored by the Royal Air Force and can give you hands-on experience of activities and courses that will challenge and develop your skills to help you succeed in whatever you want to do. The RAFAC is made up of six regions, 36 wings and more than 900 squadrons within communities around the UK and overseas.

It is my sad duty to let you know of the passing of FS Laura Pollard after a battle with cancer, bravely fought.

Laura was all that the RAFAC stood for: determination, belief, teamwork, pride and hard work.

She believed in each and every cadet and was passionate that they each got the same opportunities no matter what.

Squadrons are often like extended families and times like this prove that point, she will be hugely missed and we are utterly heartbroken to lose her.

Our sincerest condolences are with her family at this very sad time 🩵

Certificate for Good Service for CWO Hanley.

A massive congratulations goes out to CWO Hanley. Well deserved recognition for all the hard work and dedication throughout his time with the organisation.

CWO Hanley consistently aims high at everything he sets out to achieve. He is a credit to himself and 2460.

From all at 2460, well done and keep up the hard work.

Today saw a magnificent performance from 18 cadets with a total of 10 medals across track and field events.

It is not all about the result, although some great performances mean we are very happy with the day, the event is traditionally about teamwork spirit with cadets supporting others and cheering each other on no matter what.

A big thank you to all the staff who make the event work.

Today saw four of our Royal Air Force Air Cadets fly with the Royal Air Force ✈️

FS Kirk & Cpl Nowkowoski and two first time flyers: Cdts Nutbrown and Santon

All had a flight in the Grob Tutor after safety briefings and practice drills.

This weekend saw two cadets complete the silver road march at RAF Cosford along with OC Plt Off Hiorns who was one of the wings road marching team leaders

FS Gill & FS Hiorns have accumalled 160km worth of road marching training to get to RAF Cosford. Then completing 40km on both Saturday and Sunday over this weekend.

This is Plt Off Hiorns & FS Hirons 3rd and FS Gill 2nd completion of this road marching weekend

Last weekend South & West Yorkshire Wing hosted the wing clay target shooting competition. Cpl Williams, Cdt Nutbrown, Cpl Stockwell and Cdt Bates who represented the squadron in this competition, finishing 7th overall. Well done to them all.
