I Can Be…A Designer!
FREE Creative Skills Day for 13-17yrs in Wakefield District.
Curious about design, creativity or what you could do in the future? Come along for a hands-on day exploring what it’s like to work in the creative industries.
You’ll take part in three practical workshops led by professional designers and creative practitioners, exploring:
✅Design your ideal town: Develop illustration skills to create an interactive map and reimagine your local area, designing places and spaces you’d love to see in your community
✅Wear your creativity: Explore different artists, styles and design techniques to transform your ideas into a unique wearable creation
✅ Become a packaging designer: Design packaging for a locally produced chocolate bar and discover how branding, audiences and visual identity help bring products to life
You’ll build valuable skills including creative problem-solving, communication, collaboration, idea generation and presenting your ideas. These transferable skills are useful across a wide range of careers, whether you’re interest in design, the arts, business and technology.
