Thanks very much for you help.

We have recently been helping with a little bit of TLC at the best kept secret in Pontefract. The Elizabeth love Museum near the Castle is an amazing place and it has the Castleford Pottery collection, which we lived in David Dunderdale house at Dunford House Methley. The roof had been leaking for a while so we used the Basket Spider 20.95 to go in between the chimneys and replace the tiles. Glad we could help, saved a lot of money if they had gone down the Scaffolding route.

A wonderful art workshop took place at The Elizabeth Love Museum this afternoon. Based on the jug and cup artefacts that are part of the museum’s collection, 6 enthusiastic “artists” created a range of artwork, learning how to use acrylic paint and watercolour pencils.
Why not sign up for the next workshop, led by an experienced artist, which is on Saturday June 13th. The day starts at 10.30 am and finishes at 4.00 pm. All materials are supplied and the cost of £25, includes a tour of the museum. The maximum number of participants is 8 which allows for individual help.
The theme of the next workshop will be “TEAPOTS” .

Contact the Museum for further details and booking.

Last night at The Elizabeth Love Museum, we were treated to a very informative talk on Ferrybridge Pottery by Alan Tomlinson.
Why not book a tour of this museum to see examples of local ceramics collected by Elizabeth Love and her brother?

ELM Garden - can you help?

First a very big thank you to all who have helped in the garden, from the initial cut back and clearance of this very overgrown space through weeding and removal of many bricks to the laying of membrane, to the great guys who recently barrowed 5 ton of gravel from the front door round to the garden.

We would now very much welcome and appreciate donations of garden furniture, planters, plants, potting compost.

Please message if you can help.
Local collection can be arranged.

Our art workshops are held in this interesting room in the basement of the Elizabeth Love Museum.

Would you like to develop your art skills? Would you like to tour the wonderful Elizabeth Love Museum next to Pontefract Castle? Then why not book a place on one of our workshops? Each workshop will concentrate on a different range of artefacts found in the museum and you will take home a small sketch book and a painted canvas.
The tutor is Rhona Crichton, an experienced Pontefract based artist, who has already led two successful art days at the museum.
The introductory cost is only £25 for the day, with all materials supplied.
The images attached show some of the work students have already produced based on the Art Deco style face masks and the Castleford pottery plates. Aren’t they wonderful ?
Message the Museum to book a place.
