πŸ•ŠοΈ Remembering Aberfan πŸ•ŠοΈ

Today, we remember the lives lost in the Aberfan disaster on 21 October 1966, when a coal spoil tip collapsed above the village, claiming the lives of 144 people, including 116 children.

As we pause to reflect, we honour the children, families, school staff, rescuers, and the entire community whose strength and resilience continue to inspire generations.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this tragedy, and we join communities across Wales in remembering those who never came home.

πŸ’‘ Did You Know About the National Grid Priority Services Register? πŸ’‘

The Priority Services Register (PSR) is a free service that provides extra support to people who may need it during a power cut or disruption to their energy supply.

You may be eligible if you or someone in the home:

βœ… Are d/Deaf
βœ… Have a visual impairment
βœ… Have a disability or long-term health condition
βœ… Rely on electricity for medical equipment
βœ… Are of pensionable age
βœ… Have young children at home

Being on the register can give you access to additional support, including priority assistance during power outages and communications in accessible formats.

If you think you, a family member, or someone you support could benefit, it's worth checking with your energy supplier and signing up.

Today is Developmental Language Disorder Awareness Day. πŸ’›πŸ’œ

Many children, young poeple and adults with DLD work incredibly hard every day to understand and express language.

With awareness, understanding and the right support, they can achieve their goals and reach their full potential.

Let's work together to create environments where every child has the opportunity to be heard, understood and included.

Heddiw yw Diwrnod Ymwybyddiaeth Anhwylder Datblygu Iaith (DLD). πŸ’›πŸ’œ

Mae llawer o blant, pobl ifanc ac oedolion Γ’ DLD yn gweithio’n galed iawn bob dydd i ddeall a defnyddio iaith.

Gydag ymwybyddiaeth, dealltwriaeth a’r cymorth cywir, gallant gyflawni eu nodau a chyrraedd eu potensial llawn.

Dewch i ni weithio gyda’n gilydd i greu amgylcheddau lle mae pob plentyn yn cael y cyfle i gael ei glywed, ei ddeall a’i gynnwys.

Small changes can make a big difference. πŸ’œ

To support children, young people and adults with Developmental Language Disorder:

βœ… Use clear language
βœ… Give extra processing time
βœ… Break instructions into smaller steps
βœ… Use visual supports where possible
βœ… Check understanding

Creating communication-friendly environments benefits everyone.πŸ’›

Gall newidiadau bach wneud gwahaniaeth mawr. πŸ’œ

I gefnogi plant, pobl ifanc ac oedolion ag Anhwylder Datblygu Iaith (DLD):

βœ… Defnyddiwch iaith glir
βœ… Rhowch fwy o amser i brosesu gwybodaeth
βœ… Rhowch gyfarwyddiadau mewn camau llai
βœ… Defnyddiwch luniau a symbolau gweledol lle bo modd
βœ… Gwiriwch eu bod wedi deall

Mae creu amgylcheddau sy’n cefnogi cyfathrebu o fudd i bawb. πŸ’›
