𝐓𝐲 𝐈𝐬𝐚𝐟 𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐘𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐝 𝐑𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐝𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

As part of our work to upgrade your rail network, we’ll be carrying out tamping works between Ty Isaf road bridge and Ystrad Rhondda station. This involves using a tamping machine to pack the track ballast under the railway track to make it more durable. This work is essential to ensure the track remains even, and to fix any track problems caused by the passage of railway traffic.

We’ll be working from 23.00 -05.00 on Sunday 31 May. (Sunday night). We’re working at night as this work needs to be carried out whilst trains aren’t running to ensure the safety of our colleagues.

Fel rhan o’n gwaith i uwchraddio’ch rhwydwaith rheilffordd, byddwn yn cynnal gwaith tîmio rhwng pont ffordd Ty Isaf a gorsaf Ystrad Rhondda. Mae hyn yn cynnwys defnyddio peiriant tîmio i becio’r balast trac o dan y trac rheilffordd i’w wneud yn fwy gwydn. Mae’r gwaith hwn yn hanfodol i sicrhau bod y trac yn aros yn wastad, ac i drwsio unrhyw broblemau trac a achosir gan lif traffig rheilffordd.

Byddwn yn gweithio o 23:00 - 05:00 ar ddydd Sul 31 Mai. (Nos Sul). Rydym yn gweithio yn y nos oherwydd mae angen i’r gwaith hwn gael ei ganlyniad tra nad yw trenau’n rhedeg i sicrhau diogelwch ein cydweithwyr.

Vegetation management along the Rhymney line at Ystrad Mynach.

We’ll be stripping back or removing hazardous, encroaching, dead, dying and diseased trees and scrub on the Rhymney line.

We’ll be working at night from 23.00 – 06.00 from 23 May to 24 July 2 026. This is essential so our colleagues can work safely when trains aren’t running.

Local residents are welcome to attend, as our representatives will be on hand to answer questions.

From 9 May until later in the autumn, we’ll be carrying out essential vegetation maintenance between Quakers Yard and Merthyr Vale stations.

Work will mostly take place at night (22:00–08:00) when trains aren’t running, to keep our teams safe. However, some works may be carried out during the daytime.

Some noise is unavoidable, as equipment such as chainsaws, strimmer’s and chippers will be used but we’ll keep noise to a minimum where possible.

These works are vital to keep the railway running safely and reliably. Thank you for your patience and understanding while this work takes place.
