If you need to cool down Splash Fountain in the Walled Garden will be running today until approximately 4pm. You can also buy tasty ice cream from the Tea Rooms and Spurriers Kiosk, both are next to the Walled Garden.

The Tea Rooms are open as normal.

The Walled Garden is currently closed to Country Park visitors for a Private Event taking place on Saturday 20 June.

The Walled Garden and Splash Fountain will reopen to all visitors on Sunday 21 June.

The Puya alpestris (mountain puya) has started flowering! We noticed the first flowers this morning and expect that this will be in full flower over the weekend.

You can find this wonderful plant in the borders just outside the Walled Garden, near the Tea Rooms.

The Puya is a relative of the pineapple and native to the Andes, able to cope with both hot and cold weather. It was planted in the borders at Upton Country Park in 2002, being cared for by the team before first flowering in 2007.

Three more fantastic festival days coming up early July, starting with Friday Ladies Night (gents allowed too!), followed by the Super Family Singalong on Saturday and finishing with the fantastic Country in the Park on Sunday.

You can even bring your own food and drink! Please check T&Cs for what the event organisers consider to be a reasonable amount of alcohol to bring in and advice on containers.

The west bound slip road from the A350 Upton Bypass is open as normal after the temporary closure for the Upton House Food and Music Festival.

The Front Lawn remains closed while the event organisers leave the site.

We’re excited to say that it looks like the Puya alpestris in the borders is flowering again. We are still in the early stages but will update with further details as we see developments.

This plant is also known as mountain puya, and is a relative of the pineapple and native to the Andes, able to cope with both hot and cold weather.

With distinctive metallic turquoise to almost black flowers there aren’t many plants like this, making it a very special plant to have at Upton Country Park.

The west bound slip road from the A350 Upton Bypass closes today (Friday 12 June) at 2pm for the Upton House Food and Music Festival. Please use Poole Road or the A35 Upton Road to access the Park.

The slip road will reopen 7am Monday 15 June, it may be reopened earlier if it is safe to do so after the event.

Upton Country Park, Tea Rooms, splash fountain and all other onsite activities will be open as usual, including:

• Create at Upton Country Park
• The Gallery Upstairs
• Rock and Rose Rituals
• Spurriers Play Park and Pétanque Terrain
