Drawn from the costume archive, Something Borrowed explores nearly 150 years of wedding dress, revealing the women, lives and stories held within these cherished garments. From family heirlooms and cultural symbolism to changing fashions and silhouettes, each dress offers a glimpse into the circumstances, aspirations and identities of the women who wore them. Together, they form a collection of treasured memories preserved as tangible connections to the past.

A LITTLE UPDATE FROM US… 💜🧡

Sadly, we’ve made the really difficult decision to cancel our events at Upton Country Park this Saturday 29 August and Monday 31 August.

Putting on our own public events is always a bit of a gamble. Long before the first family walks through the door, we’ve already planned the shows, organised the team, prepared the animals, loaded the equipment and committed to the day.

The only thing we really have to judge whether enough people are coming is advance ticket sales.

We know loads of people prefer deciding on the day, especially with the great British weather doing whatever it fancies ☀️🌧️☀️🌧️ but unfortunately we have to make the decision before then.

And this time, there simply haven’t been enough advance bookings for us to confidently go ahead.

We’re genuinely gutted. We absolutely hate cancelling anything, especially knowing some of you have already booked and were looking forward to coming.

Everyone who has purchased tickets will receive a full refund.

This DOES NOT affect Mad4Animals Live at Upton Country Park on 26 September. That event is still going ahead and we’re really looking forward to being back. 🐍🦎🐢

A massive thank you to everyone who did book for this weekend. We’re sorry we won’t get to see you.

And if there’s one tiny thing we’d ask for future events… if you know you’re coming, please book in advance. Those early bookings genuinely help us know we’re packing the vans and heading your way. 💜🧡

We are pleased to give an update on the water contamination at an isolated area of the stream and Grove Lake.

Following close monitoring of the water in consultation with The Environment Agency, no further contamination has been identified since last week and so, the fencing will be removed imminently.

We are pleased to provide an update to our visitors on the situation with the recent discolouration of an isolated area of stream water and Grove Lake. We have been monitoring the water regularly and the discolouration has now mostly dissipated. The recent rainfall will help this process, and we have been advised not to attempt to ‘clean’ the water as this could agitate any remaining contaminants further. Therefore, the stream and Grove Lake area will remain closed for the remainder of the week and we continue to advise that dogs and children are kept away from the water.

If there is no additional contamination after the weekend the stream will reopen. We hope to be able to remove the fencing next week and will provide an update when this happens.

The Environment Agency has not yet informed us what the contaminant was, and we thank you for your patience while investigations are underway.

The wider Country Park and facilities remain open for visitors to enjoy as usual.
