The Council is proud to be supporting the PTA Summer Fair. Whilst our own fete won’t run this year, it’s great that there is an alternative. Please join us in supporting the event - it will be a fun afternoon with something for everyone.
Well done to the PTA for all their efforts. ❤️

Plants Required!

Do you have spare bedding plants for a flower bed at the Community Centre? We hope to plant this over the next week or so. The bed is shaded in the morning but get sun from lunchtime.

Message us or drop in to the office if you can help. It would be great to add a little bit of colour to the entrance area. 🙂

Not all the jobs we do are obvious (or glamorous!).

Our team carries out a wide variety of tasks which are essential to keep our facilities running smoothly. Many go unnoticed, but are no less vital. And some are less pleasant than others…!

The trees at the new Community Orchard appear to be enjoying their new home. A range of local (East Anglian) varieties have been planted. The site plan and tree list is below.

In time, a few more trees will be added. The fence will be removed once the trees are mature enough to withstand the deer!

Thanks to all those who have helped us to get this project underway. 🙂

Our Ranger team is up and running!

This is part of the Parish Council's ongoing drive to deliver better services and value for residents. Whilst this will take some time, it's lovely to see the early signs.

The Rangers look after our facilities around the village, including Poringland Community Centre. We expect you'll see them around. 🙂

Calling all drone operators!

We planted the Community Orchard a month or so back, and the trees are doing well. There is a list and plan of the trees that we would like to ‘overlay’ onto an aerial shot of the fenced area.

Is there anyone locally who could help? We plan to mow the grass this week, so there’s no rush for the photo. Let us know. 🙂

A sad day - saying goodbye to our Caretaker, Steve.

Steve has been a valued member of the PPC team since 2021. Today councillors and staff met to say thanks to him for all he’s done. A few words, a card and gift, some tears, and some great cake (thanks to the Community Cafe).

Steve - good luck for the future! 🙂
