Mulberry Park play area consultation

The consultation event is underway and is open until 6pm at the Community Centre.

New play area - Mulberry Green!

The Council has been working on the new play area and now has two sets of exciting plans to review. But, we need your help…

On August 27th, from 2pm until 6pm at the Community Centre, these plans will be available to view. We want residents (particularly youngsters and parents/carers) to drop in and give their thoughts. This public consultation will form part of the scoring for the two schemes and will help the Council to decide which is best for the village.

New bus stop - St Wandrille Close

A resident alerted us to a missing bus stop (originally near The Ramblers) and asked if we could help. Working with Norfolk County Council, we’ve been able to get the stop reinstated a little further north. A new raised curb edging will be installed in due course.

Our Rangers have removed graffiti from this bench for a second time this week. The police are now involved. If anyone has information about the graffiti that’s appearing very regularly around the village, please contact us and we’ll pass on information. Or call 101.

Following comments last night, the Ranger team has been busy cleaning graffiti. They shouldn’t have to do it!

🥰 Happy to help!

The PTA would like to say a huge thank you to Poringland Parish Council for helping to save our school disco tonight.
When we found ourselves in need, your willingness to step in and support us at such short notice was truly amazing. Your community spirit, kindness and generosity made it possible for the event to go ahead, and we are incredibly grateful.
On behalf of the entire PTA, thank you for your support of both us and the school. It really does show what can be achieved when a community comes together.

The Parish Council has today published a tender for the new Mulberry Green play area. We appreciate that it's been a long time coming and thank residents for their understanding.

The new facility will include equipment for youngsters aged between 5 and 15 and replaces the two existing fenced areas.

Once all tenders/plans have been received, we'll be running a consultation event (August 27th) to hear from our residents about which scheme they prefer and why. We hope to appoint a contractor at the Council's September meeting and have works complete by the end of this year.

Following our call for litter hotspots, the team has made a start. They’ve got quite a haul from The Street, from Tesco up towards Five Ways.

Litter hotspots!

We're looking to understand litter hotspots around the parish. Our Ranger team is working hard to improve the village but they need help to understand where there are issues. If you know of any litter hotspots, please could you note them below. Thanks. :)
