What a busy few weeks! First a meeting with the Minister for Veterans and People, Louise Sandher-Jones at Tai Tarian to discuss their forthcoming programme of purpose built accommodation for homeless veterans, before going on to Bulldogs Boxing & Community Activities to celebrate and discuss the £1m investment in the U.K. Government are investing to create a VALOUR Hub for local veterans. We are really lucky to have this hub in our area. Connected Forces Cymru is a partnership made up of Bulldogs Boxing & Community Activities, Woodys Lodge 'Giving Space and Time', Swansea Veterans Hub and The VC Gallery coming together to be the Valour Recognised Centres in Wales. The hub will be focused on developing services to support veterans with things like mental health, housing, employment and community integration.

Nominated by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of West Glamorgan, Mrs Louise Fleet, I was honoured to attend The Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace in recognition of my work raising awareness of the Armed Forces Covenant and supporting the Armed Forces Community in Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Bridgend. This prestigious event was hosted by His Royal Highness King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

A couple of days later, another meeting at Bulldogs Boxing & Community Activities with the Secretary of State for Wales Jo Stevens MP to discuss issues in the Armed Forces Community and all things VALOUR.

Am ychydig wythnosau prysur! Yn gyntaf, cyfarfod gyda'r Gweinidog Cyn-filwyr a Phobl, Louise Sandher-Jones yn Tai Tarian i drafod eu rhaglen sydd ar y gweill o lety pwrpasol ar gyfer cyn-filwyr digartref, cyn mynd ymlaen i Bulldogs Boxing & Community Activities i ddathlu a thrafod buddsoddiad gwerth £1m yn Llywodraeth y DU yn buddsoddi i greu Hwb VALOUR i gyn-filwyr lleol. Rydym yn wirioneddol lwcus i gael y canolbwynt hwn yn ein hardal. Mae Connected Forces Cymru yn bartneriaeth sy'n cynnwys Bulldogs Boxing & Community Activities, Woodys Lodge 'Rhoi Lle ac Amser', Hwb Cyn-filwyr Abertawe ac Oriel VC yn dod at ei gilydd i fod yn Ganolfannau Cydnabyddedig Valour yng Nghymru. Bydd yr hyb yn canolbwyntio ar ddatblygu gwasanaethau i gefnogi cyn-filwyr gyda phethau fel iechyd meddwl, tai, cyflogaeth ac integreiddio cymunedol.

Enwebwyd gan Arglwydd-Raglaw Gorllewin Morgannwg Ei Fawrhydi, Mrs Louise Fleet, cefais yr anrhydedd o fynychu The Royal Garden Party ym Mhalas Buckingham i gydnabod fy ngwaith yn codi ymwybyddiaeth o Gyfamod y Lluoedd Arfog a chefnogi Cymuned y Lluoedd Arfog yn Abertawe, Castell-nedd Port Talbot a Phen-y-bont ar Ogwr. Cynhaliwyd y digwyddiad mawreddog hwn gan Ei Uchelder Brenhinol y Brenin Siarl III a'r Frenhines Camilla.

Cwpl o ddiwrnodau yn ddiweddarach, cyfarfod arall yn Bulldogs Boxing & Community Activities gydag Ysgrifennydd Gwladol Cymru Jo Stevens AS i drafod materion yng Nghymuned y Lluoedd Arfog a phob peth VALOUR.

Have you experienced an overseas military posting in the last 3 years?

RAND Europe, working with the Army Families Federation - AFF, RAF Families Federation and Naval Families Federation, is carrying out research into the experiences of UK military families during the overseas postings cycle.

This includes the experience of:
• preparing for an overseas posting
• living through a posting overseas
• returning home afterwards

The research is part of the Valuing Forces Families Overseas programme, funded by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust, and will help build a better understanding of the challenges military families face and where more support may be needed.
You may be able to take part if you are:
👉an ex-serving member of the Regular or Reserve UK Armed Forces
👉a partner of a serving or ex-serving member of the Regular or Reserve UK Armed Forces
And in the last 3 years, you:
👉considered an overseas posting, even if you did not go
👉went on an accompanied overseas posting
👉were separated from your partner because of an unaccompanied posting

If you’d like to help researchers better understand the experiences of military families overseas, get in touch by scanning the QR code on the poster below 👇
