πŸ™ PLEASE THINK πŸ™

Once again, we must ask the public when visiting our wonderful beach, not to park on the front, side, or back of our building.

We currently have cars parked on the grass of our building, and this could delay our Coastguard Rescue Officers from potentially saving a life.

Also, you're at risk of getting your vehicle blocked in or removed elsewhere. So please don't do it.

As the picture show, we usually have multiple Coastguard teams on scene during a call-out and other emergency services.
Port Talbot Coastguard Rescue Officers also use these areas for their personal vehicles when the back car park is full.

We would like to thank the public for their continued support.

βœ”οΈ Stay calm

πŸ₯Ύ STAY SAFE ON CLIFFS & PATHS

πŸ“Aberafan Beach.

Our team, alongside Porthcawl Coastguard Rescue Team, was tasked with assisting South Wales Police in the search for a missing person on Aberafan Beach.

Three Coastguard Rescue search teams were rapidly deployed to designated areas, carrying out thorough searches.

During the operation, the instincts and training of our Coastguard Rescue Officers proved invaluable when an object of interest was identified by a CRO. A team was immediately deployed over the dunes near the Witford Point BP site to investigate further.

Coastguard Rescue Officers from Port Talbot subsequently located the casualty and conducted an initial casualty care assessment and constant observations.

CROs then carried out a difficult and challenging extraction to a safer area before transferring to the waiting ambulance.

This was an outstanding example of teamwork and professionalism by all Coastguard Rescue Officers involved, whose training, experience, and local knowledge played a vital role in locating a casualty in need.

We would like to wish the casualty a full and speedy recovery.
