Eoropie Play Park

Eoropie Play Park Eoropie Dunes Park is run by a dedicated local charity. If you would like to donate to our play park

Set in 4 acres of natural machair (grassland) and sand dunes on the edge of the village of Eoropie in the far north of the Isle of Lewis and a few short yards from the beautiful sandy beach of Traigh Shanndaigh, our park has been designed to educate, stimulate and entertain youngsters from pre-school age to late teenage and beyond. Eoropie Dunes Play Park is managed by a charity set up in 1998 cal

led Guth Airson Iarrtasan Nis, or 'GAIN' as it's more commonly called. The charity's name means, 'A Voice for the Needs of Ness' in the native Scots Gaelic language that is still spoken extensively in rural Lewis.

GAIN are delighted to be awarded with a Green Flag Award from Keep Scotland Beautiful. We are proud to have held the award since 2019 😀

Today, as we continue to celebrate Week (24 July – 2 August), we're delighted to announce the 92 Green Flag Awards and Community Awards given to green spaces across the country.

These awards recognise the tremendous work being done by councils, community groups and other organisations to ensure their communities have access to safe and well managed outdoor spaces.

There are plenty of fantastic green spaces across Scotland for you to visit, so plan a trip and make the most of our beautiful country.

Another successful Easter Egg Hunt at the Park this morning. Great to see so many there and lots of happy faces. The sun even shone! ☀️
Lachlan was the lucky winner of the Easter bunny and special mention to Hannah Amos for her very kind donation of crochet Easter eggs.
As always your support is much appreciated and all money donations will be used to help with maintenance and upkeep of the park. 😄

A small change that makes a big difference 🌤️

We are delighted to award £1,100 from our Community Investment Fund to GAIN to support the replacement of seating at Eoropie Dunes Play Park.

This much loved community space continues to play an important role for local families, walkers and visitors, and these improvements will help ensure it remains safe and welcoming for all.
