L.I.F.T – Local Inclusive Friendly Transport, an exciting new DART project launching on 5 October 2026, with support from The National Lottery Community Fund.

L.I.F.T is a transport service designed specifically around the needs of people living with dementia and those who support them.

For someone living with dementia, unfamiliar people, changing routines and uncertainty around a journey can cause significant anxiety. L.I.F.T aims to make travelling more comfortable and reassuring through dementia-aware staff and companions, familiar journeys, consistency and additional support throughout the journey.

Familiar faces. Familiar journeys. is at the heart of L.I.F.T.

Developed alongside people with lived experience, carers, dementia professionals and community partners, L.I.F.T is about much more than transport. By making journeys easier and more reassuring, we hope to help people remain connected to appointments, essential services, social activities and their communities, while also easing pressure on families and carers.

Ahead of our official launch, we would really appreciate your support in sharing information about L.I.F.T through your groups, organisations and networks, helping us reach people living with dementia and their families who could benefit.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll share more about how L.I.F.T will operate, who it can support and how people and organisations can get involved.

If you’d like to hear more, discuss the project or explore opportunities to work together, please contact us on 028 3831 7810.

We look forward to sharing more with you as we prepare for L.I.F.T off this October!

🌿 Autism & Me is a creative, conversation-based programme exploring autistic self-understanding, identity, connection, and self-acceptance.

There’ll be clay, collage, printing, weaving, journalling, nesting boxes, identity tiles, and plenty of opportunities to make something that means something to you. 🎨🧶✨

Along the way, we’ll explore things like:

🧠 Understanding your body’s cues
💬 Communication & connection
🌗 Strengths, struggles & self-compassion
🌱 Your baseline, capacity, growth & hope
☂️ What happens when one label doesn’t tell the whole story
💜 Autistic identity & authenticity

You don’t need to be “good at art.”
You don’t need to have the right answers.
And you certainly don’t need to have yourself figured out.

Just come as you are.

This is a funded programme, so the training is free of charge. To register or ask more questions, please e-mail: [email protected]
