Don’t Box Me In (DBMI) is recruiting a Project Support Worker to join our growing team in Keady, Armagh & Rural Areas! 🎨🎭🎶

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside children and young people of all abilities, helping them build confidence, develop new skills, form friendships and reach their full potential through creative and inclusive activities.

💼 Position: Project Support Worker
📍 Location: Keady, Co. Armagh
⏰ Hours: 12 hours per week
💷 Salary: £7,931.04 per annum
📅 Contract: Until June 2028 (subject to funding)

We’re looking for someone who is:

✨ Enthusiastic, caring and committed
✨ Passionate about inclusion and empowering young people
✨ A positive team player with good communication skills
✨ Experienced in supporting children and young people through paid or voluntary work

Full induction and training will be provided!

As part of our 250th Anniversary celebrations, St Aidan’s Parish Church, Salter’s Grange, will be hosting a very special Memorial Quilts Exhibition – A Tribute to the Innocents.

We warmly invite you to come along, view these beautiful handmade quilts and hear the moving stories behind them, as we remember the lives of those represented.

Everyone is very welcome.

Halloween can be an anxious and frightening time for many pets. 🐶🐱

Lots of animals are afraid of the flashing lights, bangs and the constant door knocking. A little preparation can help make Halloween a less stressful experience for your four-legged family members.

Help keep your pets calm and comfortable by:

✅ Walking dogs earlier in the day before so that people in costume, or with sparklers or fireworks, do not frighten them.
✅ Always keep your cats and dogs inside when there are fireworks nearby. They need to be in their safe place so they have the option to run off and hide somewhere familiar.
✅ Put animals in a secure room during trick or treat time – cats can easily slip out the front door, and dogs can get overwhelmed by trick-or-treaters calling at the door.
✅ Consider bringing any pets that live outside, inside to keep them safe.
✅ Keep the curtains shut if there is a lot of activity outside.
✅ Make sure your pets have access to water as dogs and cats tend to drink more when stressed.

We attended the Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon Borough Council Community Awards last Friday night and honoured to be shortlisted for the Equality & Good Relations Award.

It was a fantastic evening celebrating the outstanding work of community groups and organisations making a positive difference across our borough.
