Love the idea of baking your own sourdough? Lapwings Community Mill and the Portlethen Cookery Book Group are delighted to host a hands-on “Make Your Own Sourdough” workshop. Come along to learn the art of sourdough baking, from starter to loaf, and leave with the starter,skills and confidence to bake at home.

Bedtime Bookbug - the Daddy Edit.
Thursday 18 June

5-6pm Crafts
6-6.30pm Bookbug

Put on your pyjamas, bring your teddy and cosy blanket and join Bookbug for a relaxing session of songs, lullabies and a bedtime story. Our quarterly bedtime Bookbug is focusing on Dad's so, bring them along and get ready for lots of fun.

There are some activities planned before hand between 5-6pm.

Scotland is about to play its first Men's Football World Cup in over 20 years! The game starts at 2am on Monday... So, what better way to wait for the countdown than with a few good football books? Pop into Portlethen Library and be ready to kick off a nice read!

A weekly Portlethen Library Language Lab will run every Monday 1.30-2.30pm.
This is an informal drop-in group to improve your conversational skills in English. Everyone is welcome no matter you ability.

It has been great to get out into the community and speak with children about the Summer Reading Challenge 2026!

Over the past few weeks, I've visited Hillside Primary School, Newtonhill Primary School, Portlethen Primary School, and Fishermoss School, sharing information about this year's challenge and encouraging young readers to get involved.

The enthusiasm, excitement, and love of reading I've seen has been fantastic. We can't wait to welcome everyone to take part in the Summer Reading Challenge and remember it is open to all ages.
