It's been a wonderful summer of Sketch and Draw! Our final session in Meliden last Friday saw some beautifully decorated pencil cases, which made for a fantastic finale to a creative summer of arts and crafts. 🖍️🎨

Thank you all for joining us over our summer sessions - Sketch and Draw will return for two sessions this coming half-term, with a fun seasonal theme... 🎃

Our last Summer Sketch & Draw session is this Friday... 6 weeks have certainly flown by! 🌞

Last Friday in Meliden, our young artists continued with their Roman theme, with a combination of guided pieces and their own ideas. Monday's Prestatyn session was all about making the most of all the available materials, so everyone got crafty in creating wonderful mementos and figures (with some 'Toy Story 4' inspiration involved)! 🖍️🎨

Don't miss our final summer session this Friday, 28th August:

What an incredible weekend at Mayoral Rocks on Prestatyn High Street! 🎶

We were so proud to see our town come together for a fantastic day filled with amazing musical acts, brilliant stalls, fundraising, and plenty of community spirit!

This special event raised money for two wonderful causes, the RNLI and St Kentigern Hospice, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who donated and supported them.

A particularly special moment was seeing the Mayor of Prestatyn take to the stage to perform Bowie in memory of his close friend, a David Bowie tribute artist who sadly passed away. It was truly lovely to see his family and friends there, enjoying the tribute and getting involved in celebrating his memory. ❤️

Mayoral Rocks was all about bringing Prestatyn together, residents and visitors alike, to celebrate our amazing town, our community and the people who make it so special.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, supported the event, donated, visited the stalls and helped make the day so brilliant. And, of course, a massive thank you to all of our amazing musical acts for providing the soundtrack to such a memorable day! 🎶

We hope this is just the beginning and that we can bring even more events like this to Prestatyn in the future, continuing to bring our wonderful town together. 💙

Our Summer Sketch & Draw sessions are coming to an end! 🌞

We can’t believe the summer holidays have flown by! Next week will be the last week of our Sketch & Draw activities for the summer, so make sure you don’t miss out! 🖍️🎨

⚠️ PRESTATYN ROAD CLOSURES: ⚠️
3RD OCTOBER - DECEMBER 2026

Network Rail will soon be carrying out work as part of the construction of a new accessible footbridge near Prestatyn station.

Preparatory activities are already underway and, to minimise disruption, all work carried out so far has taken place during daytime hours. The next phase of the project involves constructing the foundations for the new bridge. Most of this work will be undertaken during the day. However, work within the central platform area will require a combination of daytime and occasional Saturday night shifts to safely complete critical activities.

These foundation works are scheduled to begin on 3 October 2026 and will continue through to December 2026.

Typical timings are:
☀️ Daytime: 7.30am – 6pm / Up to 7 days a week
🌙 Night work: 10pm – 7am, Saturday nights

⚠️ Some work will take place overnight when trains are not running to allow our teams to work safely. Please note that dates may be subject to change. For the safety of the public and Network Rail’s workforce, nearby roads will be closed in phases during September to November. Diversions will be clearly signposted.

Earlier this week, the Mayor of Prestatyn joined the team at Tyfu Prestatyn C.I.C to celebrate the opening of a brand-new polytunnel! 🌱🌿

The new space will provide an exciting opportunity for the community to grow, learn and get involved in gardening, helping to bring people together while encouraging sustainable food growing and greener spaces across Prestatyn.

It was fantastic to see the project take this next step, and we look forward to seeing the polytunnel flourish in the months ahead🌻
