August 2026 concluded with 42 call-outs for the on-call firefighters at Bamber Bridge Fire Station.

In addition to responding to incidents, our crew members have been developing their skills in preparation for upcoming assessments.

As part of this, the team visited Preston Fire Station to use their training facilities and take part in a breathing apparatus exercise.

Drills like these allow us to practise, build confidence, and prepare for the real incidents we may have to respond to.

What matters most to you when it comes to keeping your community safe?

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service does much more than respond to fires. We help prevent emergencies, protect people and businesses, and prepare for a wide range of risks across Lancashire.

Our Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP) sets out how weโ€™ll help keep Lancashire safer over the next five years.

Earlier this year, we asked what matters most to our communities, and your feedback helped shape our draft plan.

Now, we want to hear what you think about the risks weโ€™ve identified and how we plan to prevent and respond to them.

Have your say: www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/LFRScrmp2

The survey takes around 5 minutes to complete and closes at 5pm on Friday 9 October 2026.

๐Ÿšจ JULY INCIDENT UPDATE | CREW L53P2 (ON-CALL) ๐Ÿšจ
July was our busiest month in a while, with our on-call crew at Bamber Bridge being mobilised 52 times! ๐Ÿš’
The recent dry weather led to an increase in incidents across Lancashire. We also got mobilised to assist our colleagues at Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) by providing standby cover at various Manchester stations.

Unfortunately, weโ€™ve seen a rise in deliberate fires being set in and around Withy Grove Park.
Deliberate fires waste crucial time and tie up essential resources that may be needed for life-threatening emergencies elsewhere. While attending calls in the area, we've spotted several other unreported fires.

If you see a fire, no matter how small, please dial 999 immediately. Small fires can spread rapidly during dry conditions and cause severe damage if left undetected.

Help us keep our community safe!

How can we help keep Lancashire safer over the next five years?

Our Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP) sets out our plans for the future. Earlier this year, we asked our communities, partners and employees what matters most to them, and we've used their feedback to develop our draft plan.

As we move into the second phase of our consultation, we'd like to hear your views on the community risks we've identified and how we intend to prevent and respond to them.

With the recent spell of dry weather, we have seen an increase in fire-related incidents across Lancashire.

As well as responding to incidents across the county, crews from Bamber Bridge Fire Station have also been supporting Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service by providing cover at Oldham, Bury and Philips Park fire stations.

The increased demand has seen our on-call firefighters respond to 42 call-outs during July alone.

How can you help?

๐Ÿ”ฅ Avoid using disposable barbecues in areas of dry grass.
๐Ÿšฌ Never discard ci******es or smoking materials on the ground.
๐Ÿš— Donโ€™t park on dry grass, as hot exhausts and catalytic converters can start fires.
๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ Take your litter home, especially glass bottles, which can focus the sunโ€™s rays.
๐Ÿ“ž If you spot a fire, move to a safe location and call 999 immediately.

By taking a few simple precautions, we can all help protect our communities, our countryside and our firefighters.

Thank you for your support!

Over the past two weekends, the crew from Bamber Bridge Fire Station has been out and about supporting some fantastic local events.

โ€‹Huge thanks to for collaborating with us! This gave our teams a brilliant opportunity to carry out real-world training scenarios while showing the public exactly how we work. ๐Ÿš’

โ€‹We also had a fantastic time at the Lostock Hall Carnival procession! Thank you to everyone who came over to say hello, meet the crew on duty, and explore the inside of the fire engine. We loved meeting you all! ๐Ÿ‘‹
