I had a wonderful time today at Preston MELA. Work mode.

Loved the dancing, the food and how friendly the event was. Plus it was great to see the south Asian community come together in one place.

With my councillor hat on, Preston City Council Parks team were there asking residents to comment on the play park strategy. Please do share your views online. See QR code below.

If everyone that took wildflower seed packets off me and Preston City Council today manages to plant them, we will have a wide range of pollinator pockets across the city next year.

Continuing on the theme of crime, the police have issued a warning of burglaries in our area. Please be extra vigilant and ensure doors and cars are locked.

I have asked them where these have taken place and will feed back when I get more detail.

No doubt we will get an update at our PACT meeting on 16th June.

*Update* the most recent burglaries were off Eastway and Lytham Road. But it's worth everyone being careful as we know these groups move from one street to the next before moving on.

I know ebikes/scrambler bikes are a cause for concern in our area (along the brook and offshoot paths). It is good to see the Police taking action.

In addition to this, our PCSO met the Preston City Council Parks team on Wednesday to discuss the problems with ebikes on Conway Park. And what we can potentially do about it (above renewing signage and police enforcement).

I couldn't make it due to being at a conference, but we will get some feedback at the PACT meeting on 16th June.

National Highways notice of M55 overnight closure westbound from junction 1 to Tabley Lane, for resurfacing works.

From 15 June to 23 July, Monday to Friday, between 8pm and 6am.

Here's hoping they also fix the potholes on the roundabout and clear the blocked drain. Repainting the under pass might be hoping for a bit too much...?

Our flag is on display at the Town Hall in celebration of the first day of Pride Month.

🌈 Pride month is an opportunity for LGBTQ+ individuals and allies to celebrate diversity, raise awareness about LGBTQ+ rights and foster a sense of community and acceptance.

Early warning of the next Cadley & Greyfriars Police and Communities Together meetings dates. Yes, we have finally got organised and got dates up to Christmas! 👀 😆

I will give a reminder closer to the time for each of them on local social media.

Following feedback at the last meeting, the Police will be putting posters up in the libraries and church halls that they use to try to increase awareness.
