4th Battalion The Duke of Lancaster's Regiment The 4th Battalion The Duke of Lancaster's Regiment The Regimental Headquarters are based at Fulwood Barracks, Preston, Lancashire.

The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment was formed on 1st July 2006, by the amalgamation of The King’s Own Royal Border Regiment, The King’s Regiment, and The Queen’s Lancashire Regiment. Private soldiers inherited the rank of Kingsman from The King's Regiment. The cap badge is a Lancaster rose in a Fontenoy laurel surmounted by a crown. At the base is a scroll with the motto Nec Aspera Terrent (Difficul

ties be Damned). The regiment's Colonel-in-Chief is HM The Queen, who concurrently holds the title Duke of Lancaster.

4LANCS has a recruitment footprint across the North West of England with Army Reserve Centres in the following locations:
Battalion Headquarters Preston
HQ Coy (Waterloo) Company Preston
A (Ladysmith) Company Liverpool and Warrington
B (Somme) Company Blackburn, Blackpool and Lancaster
C (Kohima) Company Workington, Barrow-in-Furness, Carlisle and Kendal

It's been a busy couple of months for attestations across the battalion, with people answering the call, and deciding to dedicate some of their spare time to the service of their King, Country and Community 🇬🇧

All of our soldiers and officers undertake an attestation ceremony in which they swear their allegiance to the King, his heirs, and officers of His Majesty's Armed Forces.

This marks the official joining of the British Army and means they are now Army Reservists, eligible to begin their training and receive pay, as well as other financial benefits.

Once attested, our soldiers can then look forward to beginning their formal training to become fully-qualified Army Reservists.

Congratulations, and thanks, to those who have turned an idea into action, scratched the itch, and committed to becoming a British Army Reservist.

Congratulations to Kingsman Duffy, who recently attended Somme Barracks Army Reserve Centre in Blackburn for his Attestation Ceremony.

Kingsman Duffy join B (Somme) Company, who recruit from the East Lancashire, Lancaster and Blackpool areas.

All of our soldiers and officers undertake an attestation ceremony in which they swear their allegiance to the King, his heirs and officers of His Majesty's Armed Forces.

Congratulations to Kingsman Powers, who recently attended Belle Vue Army Reserve Centre in Manchester for his Attestation Ceremony.

Kingsman Powers, aged 21 and from Bamford, joins D (Inkerman) Company, who recruit from across Greater Manchester. In his spare time he enjoys running, swimming and hiking and works as a PE Teacher and Swimming Instructor in his civilian career.

Congratulations to five of our Kingsmen who recently completed their Phase 1 Battle Camp at Army Training Unit (ATU) Grantham.

Kingsman Early (A Coy), Kingsman Godfrey (A Coy), Kingsman Moulton (C Coy), Kingsman Kenward (A Coy) and Kingsman Kamara (A Coy), attended the two-week residential course at Prince William of Gloucester Barracks in Grantham.

Completion of the course allows these Kingsmen to progress to their Phase 2 Combat Infantry Course (CIC), which qualifies them as fully-trained Army Reserve infantry soldiers.

The soldiers were rewarded with a pass-off parade attended by Captain Maher and WO2 Murphy, both of C (Kohima) Company. It was a proud day for everyone involved and for the families who were able to attend. The weather certainly played its part too, with the sun shining throughout a fantastic occasion.

An additional congratulations to Kingsman Moulton on achieving his Marksman’s qualification following his ACMT, a well-earned achievement that reflects the hard work and commitment he has shown.

The officers and soldiers who took part in Exercise SALIENT ROSE have now returned from Ypres.

The battlefield study tour closed with a fitting final activity, a wreath laid at the Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate. A quiet, poignant end to a week spent learning from the ground where so much of our history was shaped.
