Brockholes Welcome to Brockholes - home of the UK's first floating Visitor Village and 250 acres of wildlife Please do:
1. Share your love of Brockholes' wildlife!

Brockholes, is a new kind of nature reserve; an unreserved reserve, located just off Jct 31 of the M6 near Preston. We are owned by the Wildlife Trust for Lancashire, Manchester & North Merseyside and have already hosted over 200,000 visitors since we opened in April 2011. Follow us on our adventure as we watch wildlife 'move in' to the reserve and host many fun events at our floating visitors centre!

2. Misleading, false or illegal content.
3. Spam links or comments, or persistent negative posting behavior that impacts on the enjoyment or interaction of other social media users.
4. Repetitive negative posts designed to provoke a response to a question that we’ve already answered. Please remember that behind every post we make, there is a person trying their best to look after our amazing wildlife and wild places. If you have any concerns about any comments or content on our page, please send us a direct message or email [email protected].

We hope you've had a lovely week! We have loved seeing your fungi photos from Brockholes recently and some of our favourite fungi sightings this week have included Jelly Ear, Fairy Inkcap and Blackening Waxcap 🍄

Over at Meadow Lake, Great White Egret sightings have been keeping us thoroughly entertained and autumn migration is in full swing with groups of Pink Footed Geese spotted flying over the reserve and the occasional visitor dropping in as they make their journeys including Dunlin and a Golden Plover.

You don't have to venture far to start seeing wildlife at Brockholes with views of Kestrels, Buzzards and a Jay from around our car park this week!

It is also a fantastic time to spot Kingfishers at the moment with a number of sightings across the site. The river Ribble viewpoint can be a great place to spot them, look out for a blue flash as they dart along the river 💙

If you have visited this week, let us know your sightings in the comments 👉

You can find all our latest sightings in our blog: https://ow.ly/vkS750ZWeSu

Our Autumn and Christmas schedule is packed with exciting events including Halloween events, Bonfire Nights, Santa's Grotto, Breakfast with Santa and much more!

We are looking for a number of Events Volunteers to help us with setting up for events, meeting and greeting, running sessions such as our LEGO® clubs or crafts and packing down. We are mainly looking for volunteers with weekend availability as most of our events run on a Saturday or Sunday.
