The Duke Of Lancaster's Regiment Official page for The Duke of Lancaster's Regiment, a Regiment in the British Army. We have earned the nickname ‘Lions of England’.

The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment is the infantry regiment of the North West of England. We have 2 battalions; 1 LANCS based in Weeton near Blackpool and a Reserve Army battalion, 4 LANCS, based all over the North West. We also have an affiliated regiment, 3 RANGER, which was formerly 2 LANCS. Twitter

The regiment was formed on 1st July 2006, by the amalgamation of The King’s Own Royal Border Regiment, The King’s Regiment, and The Queen’s Lancashire Regiment. The Regimental Headquarters are based at Fulwood Barracks, Preston, Lancashire. Private soldiers inherited the rank of Kingsman from The King's Regiment. The cap badge is a Lancaster rose in a Fontenoy laurel surmounted by a crown. At the base is a scroll with the motto Nec Aspera Terrent (Difficulties be Damned). The regiment's Colonel-in-Chief was HM The Queen, who concurrently held the title Duke of Lancaster. We recruit soldiers from the North West, but also nationwide and the Commonwealth. We have a very strong history and proud tradition dating back to 1680 (4th of Foot).

🦁 TL-C COMPLETE. RESET. REFOCUS. RELOAD 🇰🇪

As we say goodbye to Training Level Charlie, the Kingsmen take a short reset before The Duke Of Lancaster's Regiment BG launches into a 48-hour run-out to set the conditions for the FTX.

It’s time to check zero, act on feedback from British Army Training Unit, Kenya - BATUK staff, implement lessons identified and sharpen our Battle Group SOPs. Refine, adapt and get ready for the next challenge.

And what better way to kick off the 24-hour reset? FRESH FOOD ON THE GROUND!

Rest up, recharge and get ready. The hard work isn’t over yet. 💪🏽

🔥 FINAL REPS OF AT BEFORE THE MAIN EVENT!🔥

With the final reps of Adventure Training (AT) complete, the LANCS Battle Group is gearing up for the BG Integration Lane and the upcoming FTX.

Kingsmen and gunners from 1 LANCS and 1st Regiment Royal Horse Artillery came together in savage wilderness for a multi-activity phase of white-water rafting, archery and climbing pushing boundaries, building confidence and strengthening the bonds that make a Battle Group work as one.

Resilience. Teamwork. Camaraderie.

More than just a break from the training area, this was about building trust, developing relationships and preparing our people for the challenges ahead.

The adventure training is done for now. The integration begins. Now it’s time to bring it all together! 🔥

🔥 TRAINING LEVEL CHARLIE COMPLETE. NEXT STOP, LIVE FIRE! 🔥

Recap over the past few weeks from OB SWARA.

The Duke Of Lancaster's Regiment Battle Group has successfully completed Training Level Charlie, with the Commanding Officer validating the Battle Group’s companies at company level. The standard has been set, the work has been done, and the Kingsmen are one step closer to the main event. 💪

Over the past few weeks, every element has been tested. R***e companies have delivered patrol activity up to company level, sustained themselves through resupply in austere conditions, and demonstrated the determination needed to operate in the Kenyan bush. Support Company has been getting after recce strike, integrating 1st Regiment Royal Horse Artillery, mortars, UAS with recce and 29 Field Squadron supporting our assault pioneers, while the MT Platoon has kept the training serials moving and the Battle Group supported throughout.

🇰🇪 The Kenyan bush is taking its toll, but the Kingsmen’s spirit and fighting edge remain firmly in place. The conditions are austere, the days are demanding, and the finish line is in sight.

Everyone knows the end state: being ready to take on the Coldstream Guards, acting as Task Force Hannibal (TFH), during the final exercise later this month.

The Battle Group moves into Live Fire Tactical Training from Sunday turning preparation into performance, sharpening marksmanship and tactical application, and pushing the training up another gear through the outstanding lanes delivered by BATUK .

The countdown is on. The Kingsmen know what’s coming, they know what’s expected, and they’re ready to get after it.

Bayonets fixed. Standards high. Fighting spirit unbroken.
