Hoghton Tower Hoghton Tower is an historic house and stately home in the heart of Lancashire. Last entry to the gardens is 3.30pm.

Our tearoom is open weekly, from Thursday - Sunday, 11am - 4pm, with house tours running Thursday - Sunday, 11am - 3pm. Open to the public from April until September. Please see the website for opening days and times. Private tours and school visits bookable throughout the year. The House has welcomed many royal guests over the centuries, including James I, William III, George V and Prince Phillip

. Other distinguished visitors include William Shakespeare, Charles Dickens and Turner. We invite you to take a stroll through history on a guided tour of one of England's most atmospheric stately homes. Our expert and entertaining guides will share stories into the many dramas and characters that have shaped the history of the house. View panelled State rooms, including the State Bedchamber with it carved bed dating from 1560's, the Buckingham Room, the King's Ante chamber and the King's Bedchamber where James I slept. Enjoy the Banqueting Hall with its Minstrels' Gallery. Admire the Tudor table crafted from a single oak tree felled from the surrounding woodlands and made 'in situ' in the hall. It was on this table in 1617 that King James I dined and knighted the Loin of Beef 'Sir Loin'. Finish your day with a visit to the gardens and then pop into the tea rooms for some well earned refreshments.

💛 Sometimes, it’s the little things that mean the most…

A few weeks ago, we were looking forward to welcoming a very special guest to Hoghton Tower to celebrate her 90th birthday with Afternoon Tea. 🎂☕️

Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to make it to her celebration, but our wonderful team weren’t going to let the occasion pass without a little Hoghton Tower magic. ✨

So, we made sure her Afternoon Tea, along with a little slice of Hoghton Tower, made its way to her so she could still enjoy a special birthday treat. 🏰🍰

It’s moments like these that remind us just how lucky we are to have such a caring team.

A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful staff and incredible army of volunteers, who go above and beyond to make our guests smile every single day. 💛

Here’s to making memories, celebrating special milestones and remembering that sometimes, the smallest gestures can mean the most.
