Our tearoom is open weekly, from Thursday - Sunday, 11am - 4pm, with house tours running Thursday - Sunday, 11am - 3pm. Open to the public from April until September. Please see the website for opening days and times. Private tours and school visits bookable throughout the year. The House has welcomed many royal guests over the centuries, including James I, William III, George V and Prince Phillip. Other distinguished visitors include William Shakespeare, Charles Dickens and Turner. We invite you to take a stroll through history on a guided tour of one of England's most atmospheric stately homes. Our expert and entertaining guides will share stories into the many dramas and characters that have shaped the history of the house. View panelled State rooms, including the State Bedchamber with it carved bed dating from 1560's, the Buckingham Room, the King's Ante chamber and the King's Bedchamber where James I slept. Enjoy the Banqueting Hall with its Minstrels' Gallery. Admire the Tudor table crafted from a single oak tree felled from the surrounding woodlands and made 'in situ' in the hall. It was on this table in 1617 that King James I dined and knighted the Loin of Beef 'Sir Loin'. Finish your day with a visit to the gardens and then pop into the tea rooms for some well earned refreshments.

🍯🐝 Golden honey from our very own Hoghton Tower bees!

A few weeks ago, our resident beekeepers collected the last of this year’s Hoghton Tower honey harvest from our wonderful bees. 🐝💛

You can now pick up a jar of this delicious golden honey from our Tearoom, but you’ll need to bee quick, as stocks are running low!

By purchasing a jar of Hoghton Tower Honey, you’re also helping us continue to care for our bees and support these beautiful, incredibly important pollinators.

Our bees face many pressures, including the growing threat posed by the yellow-legged hornet coming from the continent, an invasive species that preys on honeybees and other pollinating insects. Sightings have predominantly been concentrated in southern England, but the importance of remaining vigilant has been highlighted by sightings further north too. 🐝🌼

So, when you take home a jar of Hoghton Tower Honey, you’re not only enjoying something delicious and wonderfully local, you’re supporting the bees that make it possible.

🍯 Available from the Hoghton Tower Tearoom while stocks last.
