As Cabinet Member for Civic Pride, I’m delighted to share this amazing community initiative from Lancashire County Council.

🌱 Could your community space become a Red Rose Roots Wellbeing Garden?

As part of Reform UK Lancashire Civic Pride initiative, we’re looking for community groups, schools, charities, CICs, veterans’ hubs, Parish Councils and other local organisations with a space that could be brought to life through food growing and community action.

We’re looking for 12 sites, one in each district. 🌹
🥕 Grow fresh food for local people facing food insecurity
🤝 Bring people together
🌱 Learn new skills
💚 Support health and wellbeing
🏡 Transform underused spaces
🌹 Build civic pride and stronger communities

🌻 COULD YOU BE ONE OF THE 12?
Your project needs:
🌱 A growing space — new, revived or expanded
📍 Landowner permission
👥 A lead organisation
📅 A commitment to grow food in 2027
🤝 A willingness to involve local residents
🌿 Horticultural support — either your own expertise or a willingness to work with an advisor

💷 Some funding will be available for relevant activities and courses.
