🎉 Celebrating a Local Legend! 🎉

It was only right that we made a fuss of this local legend on her 80th birthday at our weekly coffee morning! ☕🎂

A huge happy birthday to Margaret, a lady who has given so much to our community over the years. Many will know her as the former Churchwarden at Holy Trinity, while others will remember her work with the nursery children at Theale Primary School. More recently, she has been part of the dedicated team working to tackle fly-tipping near the mini recycling centre.

Margaret is one of those special people who always seems willing to lend a hand, support others, and make our village a better place. Her kindness, commitment, and community spirit have touched the lives of so many.

Thank you for all that you do for our village, Margaret. We hope you had a wonderful 80th birthday and enjoyed being celebrated by your friends and neighbours. 🥳💐

🍕 Exciting News for Theale! 🍕

Many of you gave us fantastic feedback about the pizza van at our recent Cinema Night. As you may know, he stepped in at the last minute when our regular pizza vendor was taken ill, and we're delighted that he was such a hit.

Following your comments, we've agreed a four-week trial starting this week to see whether there is regular demand for fresh, made-to-order pizzas in Theale.

In other local villages, he visits once a week, preparing fresh pizzas to order on-site. Customers can either order when they arrive or place their orders online in advance and simply turn up to collect them at their chosen time.

We'd love to see plenty of support during the trial period. If the demand is there, this could become a regular feature for our community!

🎉🌞 Preparations are well underway for our Annual Village Fete, taking place on Sunday 5th July.

We've got a fantastic selection of stalls and traders, delicious food, and plenty of family fun planned throughout the day.

Bring your friends and family along for a great community day out. We look forward to seeing you there!

🍺🎶 Plans are well underway for our Beer & Live Music Festival on Sunday 5th July!

We're excited to be welcoming some fantastic local breweries serving a great selection of ales, our live music line-up is now confirmed, and we'll have delicious burgers and pizzas available throughout the day.

We're looking to add even more variety to our food offering and would love to hear from a local curry vendor, street food trader, or similar food business interested in having a pitch at the event.

Another busy evening at the Youth Café! 🎉
It was great to see so many young people enjoying a wide range of activities tonight. From table tennis 🏓 and gaming 🎮 to baking tasty treats 🧁, making slime 🌈, and enjoying freshly cooked hot dogs 🌭, there was something for everyone.

A fantastic evening filled with fun, creativity, friendship, and plenty of laughter.

Information we have recvied from Network Rail regarding upcoming work in the Newbury area to replace track and upgrade drainage.

We’ll be working from 10pm Friday 5th to 8am Monday 8th June and from 10pm Friday 12th June to 8am Monday 15th June. Work takes place continuously around the clock. We’ve written to residents living near the work sites to let them know.

To allow us to work safely and efficiently, buses will replace some trains on Saturday 6th, Sunday 7th, Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th June. Buses replace trains between:
• Reading & Newbury
• Reading & Bedwyn
• Newbury, Kintbury & Hungerford
• Pewsey & Swindon

Trains between London Paddington & Plymouth will use an alternative route via Swindon with some of these also stopping at Westbury. Trains between Reading & Basingstoke will be unaffected.
