A huge thank you to our amazing community! 🧡🧡🧡

To say we're overwhelmed by the support we’ve received this year is a complete understatement!

A massive THANK YOU to each and every volunteer who gave up their time to help completely stock us up with tents, sleeping bags and roll mats

There’s nothing worse than being asked if we have a tent available and having to say no — so knowing we now have enough supplies to keep us going for a good while is absolutely amazing 🧡🙌🏻

A huge thank you to our usual wonderful team members, our fantastic new volunteers, Virgin Media O2, Savills, Metcor, AES Ltd and HT Utilities Ltd — you were all absolutely fantastic, and please know that the time, effort and generosity you’ve given will make a huge difference to so many people in our community. 🤗

🐾 A really big shout out to the Tilehurst branch of Pets! 🐾

Alongside the support from Blue Cross, we’re so proud that we at New Beginnings are their chosen charity for dog and cat food collections.

These donations are massively appreciated and make such a difference to dog and cat owners in our community who are struggling with financial hardship. Being able to help people keep their beloved pets fed during difficult times means so much. 🐶🐱

💛 We need your help, please 💛

We’re currently in need of a few things and we wondered if anyone in our lovely community might be able to help.

We’re currently looking for:

🖨️ An ink tank-style printer
Nothing fancy, just something reliable for our day-to-day printing.

🧴 Basic toiletries
Shower gel, deodorant, shampoo, toilet paper, toothbrushes, toothpaste and deodorant. Unopened items would be very gratefully received.

📏 Hard wearing flooring for our entrance hall
Carpet, carpet tiles or doormat-style material would be ideal. We need to cover 3m².

If you have anything you no longer need, some spare supplies, or know someone who might be able to help, please get in touch 💕

We’re a small charity and every donation, however big or small, makes a real difference to the people we support 🙏🏻

On Saturday 4th July, our operations manager Dave, volunteer Jason and their friend Steven set off from Reading heading via the Thames Path to Goring and all the way back again.

They walked for a massive 11 hours in very hot conditions and over 62,000 steps!

This amazing trio were supported by friends Dan and Ian with Karen (our Volunteer Coordinator) on water duty!

This is an utterly wonderful achievement raising a substantial amount of funds for a much needed heavy duty tumble dryer!

Well done chaps - you absolutely smashed it!

It is still possible to donate and if you have any contacts with companies who maybe able to help with purchasing a dryer at a discounted rate please contact us! 😊

Due to the heatwave this week, we kindly ask our guests not to arrive too early for our Community Fridge sessions to avoid queuing outside in the heat. 🙏🏻☀️🥵

Earlier this week we welcomed a team from Grant Thornton who came in to support our Community Fridge session.

Zak, Lucy, Lynn, Sanjeev and Ebiene all got really involved in setting up and serving over 65 guests!

Thank you so much for coming in and we are so glad you enjoyed it!

This week we welcomed Dentaid The Dental Charity back for a second visit.

Seven guests were given much needed dental care by this fantastic team who had traveled from Southampton, Woking and London!

Thank you all so much - this service is much needed and hugely appreciated!

We hope to see you again in the near future! 😊
