We've had a great turn out for children starting the challenge at Redbourn Library, and we've seen lots of excited little readers finish the challenge in the last week. If you've finished your reading challenge, but haven't been back to the library to get your Finisher's Medal, pop in and speak to on of our friendly volunteers soon!

SUMMER READING CHALLENGE 2026 - 2 weeks left until the end of the challenge!

We have had a wonderful 86 children sign up for the reading challenge and so far, only 8 finishers! If youโ€™ve read your books, pop into the library and one of our friendly staff members will listen and help you complete the challenge.

Have a child who hasnโ€™t signed up yet? Thatโ€™s okay, thereโ€™s still time! Sign up at any Hertfordshire library before the end of the challenge, read 6 books, and finish at any Hertfordshire library to get the rewards and to be entered into the grand prize drawing.

We look forward to seeing all of our wonderful little readers in the library!

Weather permitting, we should be open as usual tomorrow, Saturday August 15th at 9:30am.

We will post here of any further library closures.
Thank you for understanding.

Join us for our final Rhyme Time session before our summer break this morning at 10am!

We'll have a guest guitarist joining the session, and as usual we will have plenty of songs, puppets, and of course bubbles for babies, toddler, and little kids to enjoy! It's sure to be a fun one to send us into the sunny summer months. ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐ŸŒž

After this week we'll be taking a little break from our usual sessions, but do look forward to hearing from us soon about special Rhyme Time dates and our usual sessions for the fall.

Thereโ€™s just one day to go before the Summer Reading Challenge starts!

This summer weโ€™ll be celebrating the connection of storytelling and sound with the theme โ€˜Read to the Beatโ€™๐ŸŽต

Children of all ages can join the challenge if they are a member of Hertfordshire Libraries.

Did you know that you children can take part at any of the 46 libraries in Hertfordshire, and can visit multiple libraries when taking part in the challenge?

We look forward to seeing all the excited readers for this year's Summer Reading Challenge!
