A BUSY HALF TERM FINISHING WITH BATS, HEDGEHOGS, BUTTERFLIES AND MOTHS!
We had a busy Half Term with the week finishing with our Local Wildlife Days when we were joined by Tees valley Wildlife Trust, Cleveland Bat Group and Ann Hedgehogs--A big THANK YOU to Olivia, Simon, Dave, Sonia & Ann.
We also did a bat and Moth survey with over 22 species of Moth recorded and 4 species of Bat including Noctule, Natterers, and Daubentons--with Common Pipistrelle being the most numerous--they were recorded over 250 times in one evening around the Centre!
As part of our Wild Kirkleatham project we have, over the last few years planted Hundreds of Trees, Rows of Native Hedgerows and thousands of Spring Bulbs --all to help make Kirkleatham a welcoming home to Wildlife--and hopefully this has contributed to the abundance of Moths, Bats and other Wildlife we are recording!
