*Having regular drink breaks
*Keeping blinds closed on sunny sides and using fans where appropriate
*Moving PE to earlier or later in the day

The team in 1A have spent another week working for Dr Eleanor Shaw and the National Maritime museum.
This time, the museum wanted to create an exhibition of portraits after discovering fragments upon the wrecked galleon.
The team worked to restore the portrait, and learnt all about Queen Elizabeth I.
The museum then asked if we could create portraits to be displayed. We decided to use our puppets, so that the portraits could come to life.

We made backgrounds and frames, slotting the puppets into special bags and popping the frame on top.

Today we’ve been busy creating the walls, plaques and hanging the portraits. Now visitors to the museum can admire the images AND use them to retell the story of the Spanish Armada.

What a fantastic week of work year 1.

Remember to book your child a space on the bouncy castle through Parent Pay.

We can only take payments up until Friday 19th June.
Timings are very tight, so we can only take children who have booked a place by the cut off date.

We look forward to seeing the children on Friday 26th June for a bounce!

The team in 1A were excited to receive their second email from Dr Eleanor at the National Maritime Museum.

She wanted to create an immersive experience for the children who visit the museum. We decided to create puppets (using our DT knowledge) of Francis Drake, Sailors and Galleons, for young visitors to use to tell the story.

We designed, joined and crafted our puppets beautifully, and can’t wait to see how they are used in the museum.

Nursery are loving our new Mantle story and are working as a team of Marine Biologists. The children have been exploring new facts and information about the ocean and have engaged with a variety of learning in class. The creative table has had jellyfish, crab and fish craft as well as under the sea water play. The team have now learnt about the clothing and equipment that a marine biologist requires. In class we have had an ocean imaginative play area and the children have enjoyed exploring and developing stories linked to a marine biologist. Great work nursery! 😄

It’s with a heavy heart that we have to say farewell to Miss James next Friday. She is very sad to leave as she loves Woodrow and we love her.
She has been such a valuable member of supporting so many children with her patient and calm approach.
A huge thank you Miss James and all the best for your next adventures.
