37 Signal Regiment

37 Signal Regiment 37th Signal Regiment is an Army Reserve unit and our main role is to provide military Communications.

The Regt has Army Reserve Centres in Redditch, Birmingham, Coventry, Stafford, Huyton, Manchester, Sheffield, Nottingham, Leeds, Darlington and York. The regiment comprises 5 squadrons, with locations as follows:

48 Squadron Birmingham, Coventry and Stafford Troops

50 Squadron Darlington and York Troop

Cadet Annual Camp 2026 

This year, Hereford & Worcester Army Cadet Forces travelled to Beckingham Training Area from 08 to 15 Aug for an action-packed Annual Camp!

As in previous years, they sought assistance from 37 Sig Regt and six Army Reserve personnel stepped up and volunteered to support.

Our team were heavily involved across the camp, including:
🔹 Conducting fieldcraft lessons and mentoring
🔹 Serving as Safety Staff on the ranges
🔹 Delivering Signals training out in the field

The cadets gained extensive knowledge and skills from these highly experienced soldiers, developing vital teamwork, leadership, and practical skills to boost their personal development for years to come!

A few more photos from last weekend’s Adventure Training!

Members from 50 Signal Squadron (Darlington and York), 64 Signal Squadron (Nottingham, Sheffield and Leeds), and 33 Signal Squadron (Liverpool and Manchester) hit the Lake District for an epic weekend of AT.

The team took on kayaking on the stunning Coniston Water and trekked up Catbells, as well as Skiddaw—the 4th highest peak in the Lake District.

All activities were led by our own talented Regimental instructors. Throughout their careers, these instructors have developed elite leadership, teamwork, and coaching skills through military Adventurous Training.

Adventurous Training in Wales 🏔️. Army Reserve soldiers from Redditch, Birmingham and Liverpool deployed to Capel Curig, Wales, over the weekend for an action-packed period of Adventurous Training (AT).

The weekend saw soldiers put themselves to the test across some of North Wales’ most challenging terrain, with activities including:
🥾 Trekking from Pen-y-Pass through Eryri (Snowdonia).
🧗 Rock climbing around The Pinnacles and London Crag.
🚵 Mountain biking through the Gwydir Mawr & Bach area.

Adventurous Training plays a vital role in preparing our soldiers for operations. By placing individuals in challenging and unfamiliar environments, AT develops leadership, physical fitness and courage, while encouraging initiative, communication, self-reliance and teamwork.

It also provides an opportunity to step outside your comfort zone, embrace controlled risk and discover what you're capable of.

Supporting the next generation! 🙌 It was a real pleasure to collaborate with Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service on their youth engagement programme.

This brilliant programme is designed to help young people across Warwickshire develop vital confidence, leadership skills, and teamwork.

The 37 Signal Regiment team delivered dynamic team building and leadership activities, alongside a sneak peek into Army Reserve life. The group got hands-on with:

What a fantastic weekend of training in glorious sunshine!

37 Signal Regiment recently headed to Swynnerton for an intensive military training weekend. Our teams focused heavily on sharpening core military skills and boosting personal fitness.

Key training included: Camouflage & Concealment, Urban Ops and Role Fitness Test (RFT).

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, and to our instructors for delivering a challenging and rewarding weekend.

A busy and rewarding few weeks for the Regiment, with a successful Comms Training Weekend followed by the privilege of supporting the INVICTUS Games launch – one year to go.

Training continued at Sheffield ARC, where BOWMAN detachments rehearsed set‑up procedures, established communications, and ran multiple serials to maintain operational readiness. 64 Sqn also used the opportunity to strengthen Cyber skills and enhance digital resilience.

The INVICTUS Games will take place in Birmingham in 2027, and the Regiment is proud to play its part.

Congratulations to the medal recipients from 54 Sp Sqn.
The Commanding Officer had the privilege of awarding VRSMs and Bars to personnel from Redditch.

On the same evening, a cheque for £650 was presented to WO1 Gurung and SSgt Milan. The donation will go to the Gurkha Welfare Trust, supporting a range of good causes in Nepal.

A fantastic evening — made even better by another excellent Gurkha curry.

Well done to WO1 Gurung for his hard work raising funds for charity, and congratulations to all the medal recipients and their families who attended.
