What a fantastic weekend at The Royal Three Counties Show!

Thousands of visitors and school groups joined us to soak up the sunshine and explore the Military Village.
​Visitors got hands-on with our interactive learning zones, checked out the equipment displays, and chatted with our team of experts about the incredible career opportunities available in the military.

Start of a new adventure for new applicants who are in the process of joining the Army Reserve with 37 Signal Regiment.

The weekend at Beckingham training area supported new applicants prior to their attendance at an Army assessment centre, with an introduction to a range of military stands, team building activities and an insight into the opportunities available in the Regiment and wider Army.

The weekend also enabled Phase 1 recruits to complete some refresher trainer so that they are better prepared to complete their initial military training.

A busy May saw Army Reservists from the Regt take part in a wide range of training and personal development activities, including individual Military training, personal fitness, communications training, support to Cadets, Operational Shooting Competitions, and Pass out Parades.

Congratulations to the Regimental shooting team as they secured 3rd place overall at the 1 (UK) Division Operational Shooting Competition (OSC) and to Sig Peakman (54 Support Squadron) on completion of Basic Training.

A real pleasure to host the Explorer Scouts from Attenborough last week in the Army Reserve Centre at North Moons Moat, Redditch.

The engagement event with saw the Scouts complete some team building activities and receive an introduction to Army Reserve life; including communications equipment, Army rations, weapons and equipment worn in the Field. An informative and enjoyable evening all-round.

This is Fostering - Paul's story ✨

During Foster Care Fortnight we’ll be sharing experiences from across the fostering community to highlight the skills and dedication it takes to be a foster carer, and celebrate the many different forms a family can take. 💡

A few years ago Paul faced a big question when he left the Army – what do I do next? He served for 30 years, but as someone active and on the go, Paul knew he needed to find purpose in his next chapter.

Having spent some time as a youth worker, he felt himself naturally drawn towards foster care. Paul now cares for a 10-year-old boy on a long-term basis, and says fostering has enhanced his own life as much as it has for the children he looks after.

Paul is also actively involved in the fostering community. He takes part in a men’s foster carer group and recently launching a men’s walking group to support fathers and fellow foster carers and boost men’s mental health. 👏 He's also making it his mission to encourage other single men to consider fostering too!

Congratulations to Sig Hart and Sig Glover (48 Sig Sqn) following the successful completion of their Phase 1 Army Reserve Training at Grantham this weekend.

Both achieved "Marksman" status in the shooting test that is part of the Basic Training syllabus, with Sig Hart claiming the honour of Best Shot in the Company.

A great achievement and we wish them both the very best for the next stage of their journey as they head to Blandford for their Communications Trade Training.

We are proud to celebrate WO2 Arjun Thapa, who recently represented the Regiment and the British Army in the Inter-Services Marathon (Master's category).

​To even stand at the starting line for this event, soldiers must prove their elite status with a qualifying time of under 3 hours. Arjun’s completion time of 3:15 in London is a powerful example of the discipline and physical robustness required of our personnel.

​Fitness isn't just a hobby in the Army; it’s a pillar of operational readiness. Congratulations, Arjun, on a fantastic run!

Army Reserve personnel from 37 Signal Regiment recently supported the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) at Bromsgrove school with their team building, leadership and Comms development.

Communications experts from the regiment provided the Cadets with an insight into the equipment and procedures used for battlefield communications. The team also helped the Cadets with their problem solving and communicating techniques to support their practical skills and personal development.

Congratulations to the Regimental shooting team on a strong performance at the Inter Corps Operational Shooting Competition (OSC).

Well done to WO2 S Rai as the Army Reserve top shot in the Corps.

Great weather this week, which was perfect for the Regimental shooting team as they focused in ahead of this year's Operational Shooting Competitions (OSC).

The team have been at Altcar this week zeroing weapons and familiarising themselves with the standards required for the OSC, including fitness training in order to compete in the demanding March and Shoot competition.
