37 Signal Regiment 37th Signal Regiment is an Army Reserve unit and our main role is to provide military Communications.

The Regt has Army Reserve Centres in Redditch, Birmingham, Coventry, Stafford, Huyton, Manchester, Sheffield, Nottingham, Leeds, Darlington and York. The regiment comprises 5 squadrons, with locations as follows:

The Elysium Memorial is the UK’s first dedicated memorial for veterans and serving personnel lost to su***de. Founded in 2021 by Sgt Ed Mackenzie and others, the charity aims to honour those lost and support mental health. After years of fundraising—including epic kayak challenges and community events—the memorial was officially opened on 13th September 2026 at the National Memorial Arboretum. The dedication ceremony saw hundreds of attendees, including families, serving personnel, and 475 bikers, with strong media coverage to raise awareness. This memorial offers a place to remember and helps bring the conversation about su***de out of the shadows.

Celebrating Success

Congratulations to Signaller Flavius Stroe who completed Phase 1 Training in September and said the following about Battlecamp:

“Challenging and intense, but ultimately good fun. Over the two weeks, the course gave me a solid foundation to build on. From weapon handling and fieldcraft to navigation and first aid, it covered the basic soldiering skills that will be vital for the next phase of my training and beyond.”

Notably, Sig Stroe also received his Marksmanship Badge, displaying high proficiency in shooting and weapon handling. Well-done and best of luck with Phase 2 Trade Training in the future.

The Regiment also celebrated a number of promotions and other achievements on the last training weekend, including LCpl Hilton and LCpl Kumar being promoted to Corporal.

📡 A successful weekend of communications training for 37 Signal Regiment!

The Regiment delivered a challenging and rewarding training exercise this weekend as preparations continued for this year's Annual Continuous Training (ACT) deployment to Denmark.

Training was centred on 33 Signal Squadron in Huyton, with several BOWMAN detachments deploying to remote locations across Runcorn and Altcar on Saturday. This created a Regimental communications network designed to test connectivity, equipment, procedures and user readiness in a realistic operating environment. Alongside communications training, personnel also undertook:

✅ Comprehensive trade training for Phase 2 students
✅ Cyber training for 64 Signal Squadron and Regt personnel
✅ Leadership development for Junior Officers

Exercises like these ensure our soldiers remain trained, capable and ready to deliver communications support wherever it is required.

Congratulations to LCpl Craig Williams (54 Support Squadron), who recently competed in the Army Table Tennis Association (ATTA) Inter-Corps Cup and Round-Robin Competition!

Having not played competitively for 21 years, Craig delivered an excellent performance to reach the Semi-Finals—narrowly missing out on a spot in the finals by just a couple of points. Fantastic effort! 👏👏

Sport and Adventure Training play a vital role in preparing our soldiers for training and operations. These activities maintain physical fitness, build resilience, improve teamwork, and develop core leadership skills.

Start of a new adventure for new  applicants who are in the process of joining the Army Reserve with 37 Signal Regiment.

The weekend at Altcar training area supported new applicants prior to their attendance at an Army assessment centre, with an introduction to a range of military stands, team building activities and an insight into the opportunities available in the Regiment and wider Army.

The weekend also enabled Phase 1 recruits to complete some refresher trainer so that they are better prepared to complete their initial military training.

Well done to everyone who took part and the instructors that made the weekend a great success.

Cadet Annual Camp 2026 

This year, Hereford & Worcester Army Cadet Forces travelled to Beckingham Training Area from 08 to 15 Aug for an action-packed Annual Camp!

As in previous years, they sought assistance from 37 Sig Regt and six Army Reserve personnel stepped up and volunteered to support.

Our team were heavily involved across the camp, including:
🔹 Conducting fieldcraft lessons and mentoring
🔹 Serving as Safety Staff on the ranges
🔹 Delivering Signals training out in the field

The cadets gained extensive knowledge and skills from these highly experienced soldiers, developing vital teamwork, leadership, and practical skills to boost their personal development for years to come!

A few more photos from last weekend’s Adventure Training!

Members from 50 Signal Squadron (Darlington and York), 64 Signal Squadron (Nottingham, Sheffield and Leeds), and 33 Signal Squadron (Liverpool and Manchester) hit the Lake District for an epic weekend of AT.

The team took on kayaking on the stunning Coniston Water and trekked up Catbells, as well as Skiddaw—the 4th highest peak in the Lake District.

All activities were led by our own talented Regimental instructors. Throughout their careers, these instructors have developed elite leadership, teamwork, and coaching skills through military Adventurous Training.
