NPC is delighted to be working in partnership with Tandridge DC to improve the drainage at the Mid St Recreation Ground. Long-term, this will add significant benefit to Nutfield Youth FC and anyone who uses the fields in the wet winter months.
There will, however, be a period of time this autumn when the fields will be closed off to residents. We anticipate that fencing will be erected beyond the playground and residents will not be able to access the area beyond. We know that the Rec is popular with dog-walkers and kids wanting a casual kick-about, so please note that you will not be able to do this until the works are finished.

Network Rail have declined our request to postponed the work planned overnight from Wednesday into Thursday morning. They have given assurances that there is a diversion agreed with the council. We will seek to establish whether the gas works will allow access to the North, otherwise the centre of South Nutfield stands to be cut off.

Does anyone know Mr Derek Offen? He is at Nutfield Cemetey, confused and lost, needing to find his way home

Residents should be aware that Tandridge DC are consulting on the new Local Plan that they have drawn up. This new document appears to propose that Redhill Aerodrome be earmarked for 2,250 new dwellings. As part of the consultation stage, a drop-in event will take place at the village hall from 4-8pm on 7th July.

Thank you to everyone who has respected the notes left on their vehicles parked dangerously on Mid Street. Unfortunately the car shown in the picture has had no fewer than four notes placed on its windscreen this week and continues to ignore them. Surrey Police have this morning indicated their ability and willingness to issue fines of £100 and 3 points. Alternatively, they will remove vehicles at a cost of £250 release fee. Please could the owner park elsewhere or contact the Parish office to explain why they cannot do so.

Residents have become concerned about the parked cars on the inside bend of Mid St opposite Braes Mead. Until recently, villagers refrained from parking there as it make an already difficult section of Mid St even more dangerous with cars forced blind into oncoming traffic. Cars parked there will be leafletted in the hope that this stops the issue, but failing that alternative measures may be required.

Surrey County Council have given notice that Bower Hill Lane will be closed from 7am till 7pm for 20 weeks at some point for a year starting 3rd June. The official diversion route is Clay Lane and Hogtrough Lane but it will doubtless result in more traffic through South Nutfield
