At the recent meeting of the Parish Council, Councillor Lesley George was appointed Chair of the Council and Councillor Simon Pittam was appointed Vice Chair.

Both councillors are long-standing members of the Council and bring considerable experience to their respective roles.

The Council looks forward to working with them as it continues to serve the community.

Notice of 6403-5400-9271-0152, Cantley, Limpenhoe and Southwood, and Reedham

Norfolk County Council proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (the “Order”) (6403-5400-9271-0152) affecting U59302 Norwich Road from its junction with C875 Freethorpe Road for 1,160 metres westwards (the “Road”) in the Parishes of Cantley, Limpenhoe and Southwood, and Reedham to facilitate new duct with cab and chamber installation works, the Road will be temporarily closed (except for pedestrian access) for the duration of the works/period the closure is necessary which is anticipated to be from 5th to 23rd October 2026, but may continue to be closed/restricted until the 4th December 2026 where the closure is still required beyond the anticipated dates.

Alternative route is via: Freethorpe Road, Church Road, Cantley Road, Limpenhoe Road, Hall Road, Cow Meadow Road, Grove Road, The Common, Chapelfield, The Green, Reedham Road (Freethorpe, Cantley, Limpenhoe and Southwood, Reedham).

The works promoter for this restriction/closure is: CityFibre Metro Networks Ltd.

Vehicular access will be permitted to a final destination in the Road where signs indicating such access is possible and permitted are in place.

The Order shall automatically revoke on the completion of the works when the closure is no longer necessary or otherwise on the 4th December 2026 without further notice.

If necessary, the restriction could run for a maximum period of 18 months from the date the Order is effective.

A person who contravenes, or who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the closure imposed by the Order shall be guilty of an offence.

Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.

Members of the Parish Council, in normal circumstances, meet once a month at a Parish Council Meeting to discuss, report, monitor and, most importantly, make decisions on matters concerning the village of Reedham.

Allotments Car Park – Allotment Use Only

We’ve noticed an increase in members of the public using the allotments car park when visiting the area. Please note that the car park is for allotment tenants only.

The gate is locked at various times for site security, so vehicles left in the car park may not be able to exit until it is next opened.

The Parish Council cannot guarantee access outside normal allotment hours.

We’re reviewing how Parish Councillor Surgeries are run and would like to hear from residents.

Turnout at recent surgeries has been low, and the Council is considering holding them on an ad‑hoc basis when someone from an outside organisation is available to join the session — for example local policing, Highways, or other community services.

We’d welcome your views on what you would find most helpful, such as:

🔷 topics you’d like to discuss
🔷 whether you’d attend if a representative from an organisation
was present
🔷 any other suggestions

Community Information – Village Hall Booking

The Parish Council has agreed to fund a one‑off hire of the Village Hall so that residents can come together for an information evening, led by the community, relating to the GNLP Call for Sites proposals for Reedham.

Thursday 15 October 2026
🕖 7.00pm – 8.30pm
📍 Reedham Village Hall

This session will only go ahead if residents choose to lead it. The Parish Council will not be involved in running the evening; this is simply to give the community space to organise its own information at an early stage.

If you care about how Reedham develops in the future, this is an opportunity start gathering and sharing the information that may be needed later.
The hall is booked — the rest is up to the village.
