GOOD NEWS! Reigate Caves will be opening again in 2021. We have a schedule of open days planned throughout the summer, the first open day will be on May 22nd.
Due to restrictions to what is possible under current Covid-19 rules, we will be limited to FIVE people per tour, and to two tours each hour. All tours will be led by a guide. We will only be able to open ONE cave initially, the Tunnel Road East Caves. Here you can explore the old wine vaults and beer cellars off the side of Tunnel Road where there are a number of interesting displays on local wartime history, the old horse-drawn tramway from Merstham to Croydon, and our famous Reigate Roman tile kiln, moved into the caves and faithfully rebuilt to the state it was when dug up in 2004. Book your places to see nearly 2000 years of fascinating local history.
All visitors will be expected to comply with safety rules, including bringing a face mask to wear, and wearing a helmet (provided for you).
Tickets will be available from Friday 23rd April. Please visit https://reigatecaves.org.uk/?page_id=280 for information on how the open days are being planned, and visit https://reigatecaves.org.uk/?page_id=28 to buy your ticket.
Places will be limited on the May open day, so don't delay!
There will be further open days in June, July, August and September. We hope we will be able to accommodate more people and open more caves. More details closer to the dates.
Bookings for 2021 season Due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation we have been forced to move to a cashless on-line booking system for our open days in 2021 to ensure we are able to open while balancing the risk to both our visitors and guides all of whom are voluntary. We have partnered with Ticket So...
