I have received th following notification:
There may be disruption the recycling collection today Friday 19-06-26.
If the recycling collection is not made by 5PM today. The recycling collection will take place on Saturday 20-06-26. This is due to staff shortages this morning. The CRM system has been updated to show the changes.

Totally agree Tim Wilson. Town & Community councillors are dedicated volunteers, who know and understand their communities.

Local democracy relies on it's foundations, just like any structure.

The foundations are the Community Councils, especially in a rural ward like this that has 4. Llanyre, Nantmel, St Harmon/Pantydwr and Abbeycwmhir.

People who know their own patch better than anyone and give their time to make that community stronger.

And those foundations here are deep and strong.

A County Councillor must, in my opinion anyway, attend as many Community Council meetings as possible to have a real grasp on what needs to be done.

The County Councillor is the conduit to County Hall for the Community Councillors. The person who gets answers to questions and facilitates action where nessesary.

The person who, in consultation with an experienced team of other County Councillors, does their very best to find solutions based on the intimate local knowledge of the Community Councils.

It might not be glamorous but it is, to my mind, essential.

The closure is on behalf of MJ Quinn / Openreach, while they do works to renew 2 poles in the verge.
Residents access will be maintained.
Emergency vehicles access will be maintained.
