🚧Temporary Road Closure 🚧

Rali Ceredigion is coming through the Elan Valley this weekend 🏁

The C1206 from Garreg Ddu will be closed to Cwmystwyth and around the top road back towards Rhayader. The closure is in place from 6pm on Friday 4th September to midnight on Saturday 5th September.

Please follow signposted diversions.

ElanFest is nearly here and we’ve got an awesome line-up of live music for our Saturday session including... 🎤🎸

- Ceredigion based Cynefin, the brainchild of folk singer Owen Shiers. His latest album was acclaimed as ‘Folk Album of the Month’ by the Guardian.

- Kidd Raven, performing folk, country and blues

- Local acoustic duo The Outlaws of Babylon

- Llanidloes based singer and guitarist, and our very own Ranger Marc Harpham.

This photograph, taken in 1903, shows the workers constructing Dol y Mynach Dam. Also known as the 'Unfinished Dam', as works on this site was abandoned during the World Wars. This was meant to be built in concert with two other dams along the Claerwen river to future proof Birmingham's water supplies.

Mae’r llun hwn, a dynnwyd ym 1903, yn dangos gweithwyr yn adeiladu Argae Dôl y Mynach. Fe’i adwaenir hefyd fel yr ‘Argae Anorffenedig’, gan i’r safle gael ei adael yn ystod y Rhyfeloedd Byd. Bwriadwyd ei orffen ar y cyd â dau argae arall ar hyd afon Claerwen er mwyn sicrhau cyflenwad dŵr i Birmingham.

One of the biggest cycling events to date is coming through Wales this Saturday, 22nd August 🚴‍♀️

The women’s tour of Britain is coming through the Elan Valley on it’s Stage 4 route from Llanidloes to Hay-on-Wye 📍

Come and cheer the riders on as they loop from Rhayader around the stunning Elan Valley roads, before heading back through Rhayader and onto Hay-on-Wye.

The lead car and main cycling pack is expected through Rhayader from around 11.15am. Please note that there will be a rolling closure in the area from then onwards until around 12.30 to 1pm.

Parking is available at the Visitor Centre, please note charges may apply🛻

From tomorrow! 📣

Our pop-up planetarium sessions start from tomorrow (Wednesday) morning and run until Friday afternoon. The first session is fully booked but we have space from 11am on Wednesday.

🕙 3 daily sessions of about 50 minutes, from Weds - Fri at 10am, 11.15am and 1pm.
💰 Costs £7.50 per person, except the children's session on Friday at 10am which is £5 for under 6's.
