🔊Join us for 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 and have your say🔊

Over the next few weeks, we are going to be out and about across Rhyl as we begin work prioritising, deciding on and planning our future projects.

But we need YOUR help. We want to know what matters most to you and what you would like to see for Rhyl. Your input will help us decide where we to focus our future efforts and resources.

Congratulations on the new award and a huge thank you from our mayor Cllr Joan Butterfield for inviting her along to raise the Marine Lake community flag and to Rhyl Miniature Railway for renaming train Joan to Joan Butterfield in her honour. 🙏🚂

Thank to everyone who has invited our mayor Cllr Joan Butterfield along to events over this last week. From Rhyl Botanical Gardens Grand Community Event (📸) to food festivals it's been great to see our communities coming together. If you didn't get the grades you were looking for, don't worry. Talk to your school today, they'll be ready and willing to help you. We're rooting for you!

With back to school on the horizon, help is at hand. Read on to see what is available.👇

Going back to school can be a really difficult time for families, especially with the cost of uniforms, shoes, bags, lunches and everything else that comes with it.

If you’re struggling, please don’t feel embarrassed to ask for help. There may be support available through your child’s school, local council, food banks, uniform banks, or benefits and grants.

In Wales, eligible families may be able to apply for the School Essentials Grant to help with school costs:

• £125 per child in Reception to Year 11• £200 for children starting Year 7• Help towards uniform, coats, shoes, PE kit, school bags, stationery, activities and some equipment

The grant is for families on lower incomes who receive certain benefits, and all children who are looked after qualify. You can apply once for each child each school year through your local council.

Also worth knowing:

• All primary-school children in Wales receive a free school meal.• Families with children in secondary school can apply for means-tested free school meals through their local council.

🍀Good luck to all those picking up A Level and AS level results today. We hope you got the results you need; congratulations to those who passed and are now planning the next chapter.

But if you didn't quite get what you wanted today, don't worry. There is plenty of support available whether you're thinking about work Denbighshire looking to resit, or do something entirely different. Everything happens for a reason and help is out there.💪

‼ Temporary changes to waste collection times ‼
If your bins are due to be collected tomorrow or Thursday then please put them out before 6am as crews will be starting earlier.

Due to the hot weather forecast tomorrow (Wednesday) and Thursday, we are temporarily changing our waste collection time to help protect our crews.
Collections on both days (Recycling, Residual, AHP and Garden Waste) will start earlier, from 6am. Please ensure you put your bins out by 6am on your collection day.
