Rhyl Sea Cadets and Royal Marines Cadets

Rhyl Sea Cadets and Royal Marines Cadets Sea Cadets is the UK's largest maritime youth charity. We also challenge cadets to develop and push them on to better and greater achievements.

Cadets learn life skills like leadership and team working through nautical adventure activities, and can earn extra qualifications which give youngsters a head start. We offer young adults, boys and girls of all ages (10 to 18 years) nautical themed training in a disciplined environment and we have some serious fun whilst doing so! Based on the long lasting traditions of the Royal Navy, the traini

ng and opportunities we can provide for young adults are simply outstanding and cover everything from sailing to adventure training and many more. Many of the qualifications that we offer are nationally recognised, allowing cadets to learn fun skills and gain qualifications whilst doing so! Many of our cadets have gone on to join the armed forces or serve in the emergency services. Many others have become successful managers and business people! The only thing that limits your own Sea Cadet experience is your willingness to try out new things. So come along and see what we can do for you..

๐Ÿ–๏ธ What amazing work! ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŒŠ

A huge thank you to the Rhyl and Prestatyn lifeguards, who work tirelessly throughout the summer to help keep our beaches safe and protect everyone enjoying the coastline.

Please remember, when swimming at a local beach, always swim between the red and yellow chequered flags on a lifeguarded beach. ๐Ÿšฉ

Stay safe, listen to the lifeguards and enjoy our beautiful coastline! ๐ŸŒŠโ˜€๏ธ

๐ŸŒฟ Celebrating 15 Years of Rhyl Marine Lake! ๐ŸŒŠ

OC Wyatt was honoured to attend the Rhyl Marine Lake Users Forum Green Flag Raise, celebrating 15 consecutive years of the Marine Lake Users Forum and its dedicated volunteers maintaining this much-loved site to such a high standard.

Rhyl Marine Lake is home to a wealth of local wildlife, a wonderful nature and heritage trail, and the much loved Rhyl Miniature Railway. It has also been home to the Rhyl Sea Cadets boating station since it opened in 1999, making it an important part of the townโ€™s community and heritage.

We were honoured to support this special Green Flag raising, with the Mayor of Rhyl also in attendance.

A huge thank you to everyone involved, and once again, congratulations on 15 fantastic years of dedication and achievement! ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŒฟ

This evening, some of our Sea Cadets, Royal Marines Cadets, and Junior Cadets had the fantastic opportunity to visit both Rhyl Coastguard Rescue Team Station and Rhyl RNLI Lifeboat Station.

Throughout the evening, our cadets learned all about water safety, mud rescue techniques, and the vital role the Coastguard plays in keeping our coastline and communities safe. They were given an insight into the specialist equipment used by the Coastguard and even had the chance to try out some of the kit for themselves. One of the highlights was getting to activate the sirens, something they certainly didnโ€™t want to stop doing!

At the RNLI station, cadets learned about the two lifeboats stationed in Rhyl, their capabilities, the rescue equipment carried onboard, the specialist vehicles used to launch and recover the boats, and the proud history of the station and its volunteers. It was a fascinating look into the lifesaving work carried out by the RNLI, often in some of the most challenging conditions.

The fun wasnโ€™t limited to the cadets either! Our staff took part in a friendly competition to see who could put on the Coastguard rescue equipment the fastest, providing plenty of laughs and adding to an already memorable evening.

Experiences like these give our cadets a valuable understanding of the emergency services that work tirelessly to keep people safe at sea, while inspiring teamwork, confidence, and an appreciation for maritime safety.

A huge thank you to the teams at Rhyl Coastguard Rescue Team and RNLI Rhyl for taking the time to share their knowledge, experiences, and passion with us.

To say the least, our cadets thoroughly enjoyed the evening, and everyone left with smiles on their faces and plenty of new knowledge
