A47 Closure Rescheduled
Dear Stakeholder,

Over the last few months, we’ve had a long period of very wet weather. This has made the ground difficult to work on and slowed progress in several key areas, especially Earthworks. Our teams have continued working on structures and highway tasks away from public view, but works have been delayed.

Despite everyone’s best efforts, we’ve had to review whether it’s practical and safe to carry out the Wood Lane traffic switch as planned. We’ve now agreed that we need to make some changes to keep our work safe, minimise the impact of the road closure and ensure works are up to the standards expected. Because of this, we’ve made the difficult decision to delay the traffic switch and the opening of Wood Lane, to 27 April 2026. As a result, the planned weekend closure of the A47 from 20 to 23 March 2026 has been cancelled.

Additional Rescheduling of Temporary Traffic Lights and Lane Closures – 28 and 29 March 2026

Unfortunately, due to operational reasons we had to cancel our overnight closures on 13 and 14 March, which have now been rescheduled for daytime on 28 and 29 March.

We will be carrying out multiple pieces of preparation work along the A47 between the Fox Lane junction and Easton Roundabout.

On 28 and 29 March between 7am and 7pm each day we will be closing one lane of the A47 in multiple locations. We will be using temporary traffic lights to allow traffic to flow in both directions.

We’d like to apologise for any disturbance caused by our work, and we will try to keep this to a minimum where possible.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

New cooker for the village hall
A crowdfunder project has been launched to raise money to replace the cooker in the village hall. The project requires some electrical work as well as the purchase and installation of a cooker. The link is here: please copy and paste into your browser. https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/qr/Zn565dLy?utm_campaign=sharemodal&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=shortlink

Please share so we can achieve our goal as soon as possible. The County Councillor will provide £500 from his community fund when we reach £500 from the crowdfunder process.

Volunteers wanted on Saturday 22nd November to help clear vegetation on Church Hill Common

The Parish Council is organising a work party on Church Hill Common to undertake vegetation clearance. This will take place on Saturday 22nd November, starting at 9:30am.

The work is being undertaken as part of our management of the Common - without intervention the central grass area, which forms an important open acid grassland wildlife habitat, will be overtaken by the encroaching scrub.

Please bring hand tools such as loppers, shears and rakes. Appropriate footwear such wellies or work boots are recommend, as are a decent pair of gloves (the vegetation that needs to be cut down is mostly gorse and brambles!)

If you need any more any information, or have any questions, please contact Simon Addington on 07952 767971 or email [email protected]

We look forward to seeing you on the 22nd

Dear Stakeholder. We’ll be working on the A47 between Fox Lane junction and Easton Roundabout as part of our upgrade to the A47 road. To work safely, the A47 will be fully closed in both directions from Easton Roundabout to Dereham interchange for a full weekend closure between 6pm Friday 14 November and 6am Monday 17 November 2025. Safety cameras will be in place within the 40mph speed limit zone. Diversions will be in place:
