There are just two days to go until the Parish Council’s annual Picnic on the Green. Bring a picnic and blanket, or pick up food and drink from the outlets, then settle in for a fun-filled afternoon on the Village Green. Activities will include children’s events run by local groups and societies, including a free inflatable football target game, crafts, games and a treasure hunt. You can also try handbell ringing, drumming 🥁, croquet and target bowls, and enjoy a car display 🚘and, subject to availability, a fire engine 🚒. Don't forget to bring your pooch 🐕along for the Fun Dog Show and also your dancing shoes to have a go at Line Dancing 🤠🥳

🌿 Pond Conservation Project – Day 1 🐸

Last Friday saw the first of two days of our pond conservation project, and what a great start it was!

A huge thank you to all the wonderful volunteers who came along and got stuck in. Your time and enthusiasm are really appreciated. 🙌

We’d also like to thank TCV Sussex for sharing their expertise and guidance so far — it’s been invaluable in helping us give the pond some much-needed care.

More on Friday! 🌱💧

🌳 Park Gate Update

A quick update for residents: unfortunately, the park gate is currently broken and, for safety reasons, has been fixed closed until our contractor is able to carry out the necessary repairs.

The closing post will need to be reinstated and the stopping plate repaired as part of the work.

In the meantime, the gate on the south side of the park remains open and is available for use.

We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience while the repairs are arranged. We’ll provide an update once the gate is back in working order.

Thank you for your understanding. 😊

Would you like to get involved with taking care of Ringmer’s pond? Would you like to join us as we open up the space to make it even better for nature?
We’re going to be clearing non-native bamboo and laurel, trimming scrub and thinning overcrowded trees to let in the light and boost biodiversity.
No previous experience required, we’ll be there with experienced volunteers and TCV staff, we’ll show you how to do everything safely, and we’ll have all the tools and equipment.
Please get in touch first to complete a volunteer registration form and to confirm meeting point.
