Postal votes for the forthcoming Butterley ward by-election are landing on doormats from this week. Please use your postal vote to vote for Trevor Spencer and send a message to Labour.
This year, Labour councillors on Ripley Town Council voted through an inflation busting 9 % increase in the Council Tax precept for 2026/27. In the last three years alone Labour have more than doubled the Ripley Town Council precept.
Let’s not forget, the Labour councillors who voted for this increase are the same ones who voted last year to save the disgraced Mayor of Ripley who tore down an England flag!
At a time when residents in the Butterley ward are feeling the pinch from ongoing cost of living pressures, we believe it is unfair to ask hard working taxpayers to pay even more. Clearly, Labour are not on the side of hard-working taxpayers.
