Our year 6 children had a workshop today from our local PCSOs to learn more about knife crime.
It was very informative!

They then enjoyed spraying painting the message '"choose life drop the knife' which is the slogan for 'operation sceptre'.

A huge well done to one of our ex-students! We love hearing about them even when they've left us!

Well done Ollie we are very proud of you!

🎖️We have an update!🎖️

As we mentioned last week, this Saturday Ollie travelled to Newcastle in preparation for his final the following morning! Ollie had to weigh in between 8am-10am on Sunday morning, then he had a nervous wait until around 1.30pm, when he finally took to the ring!

He did really well winning the first two rounds and eventually getting the stoppage in the third round. Ollie is not only the East Midlands Champion, but also England's National Champion aged 12 at 63kg!

It was Ollie’s biggest challenge so far in front of the biggest crowd he’s ever fought in front of. It is also being streamed live on England Boxing’s YouTube channel!

Well done Ollie from all of us at The Ripley Academy!
