4_FD_SQN have had an extremely busy 8 weeks, with service personnel from across the Squadron conducting pre-deployment training in preparation for EX SAILFISH this September.

Plant operators from support troop have been conducting refresher training and getting extra hours in on all the equipment needed to complete their route upgrade task in Belize.

Drivers have been conducting advanced off road training and refreshing their long distance road skills with the delivery of store and plant equipment across the country. They have also attended specialist courses like the Terex AC35 crane and crane truck mounted loader (TML) ready to support all tasks in the future.

LCpl Watkin was awarded the Deputy Commanding General 3 (UK) Coin today🥳

He was instrumental in maintaining both morale & soldiering competency throughout the COVID period, being constantly proactive and motivated. Since returning back to work he has continued to improve. The list goes on about how much of a great "Sapper" he is.

In short he is a substantial Sapper 💪

4_Fd_Sqn have been conducting an Engineer counter mobility training exercise in Catterick. Soldiers from 5 Fd troop have been deployed on EX JERBOA CINCO where they have been training in non equipment obstacles and mine strike casualty recovery

This morning the OC and SSM have been out visiting our soldiers who are currently working alongside and as part of our pre deployment trade training for Belize.

The expirence gained over the last four weeks has been invaluable. This enduring relationship will give our people the currency required for a construction tour as well as improving retention through an enriched lived expirence for our military tradesman.

Today we remember one of our own, Sapper Daryn Roy tragically killed serving in Afghanistan on this day in 2010. his memory shall live on.

We also remember Lance Corporal Barry Buxton also of who died on this day.

4 FD Sqn: have been refining their combat engineering skills on Ex JERBOA QUATTRO. The exercise has seen the troops refreshing their knowledge of mobility support through bridging, minefield breaching theory and practical lessons along with basic pistol shoots.

4 Field Squadron have been learning new skills on Ex Jerboa Survive. Over the past week service personnel have been conducting a combination of survival lessons and an arduous navigational exercise where they have been tested both mentally and physically whilst employing their basic survival and soldiering skills.
