Have Your Say on Changes to East Sussex Boundaries by 15 June

Residents are being invited to share their views on Government proposals that could change local council boundaries in East Sussex. THIS LATEST CONSULTATION IS ON A REVISED VERSION OF THE ONE EAST SUSSEX PROPOSAL DRAWN UP BY ALL THE COUNCILS IN EAST SUSSEX , which suggested a new unitary council should cover the whole county of East Sussex. The Government agreed One East Sussex has ‘positive strengths’ but said it is concerned about the footprint of neighbouring Brighton & Hove City Council which is already a unitary council.

The Government proposal suggests that areas including Peacehaven, Telscombe, East Saltdean and Falmer would move into Brighton & Hove City Council, while the rest of East Sussex would be served by a new single unitary authority.
The Government is asking whether these changes would improve local services, governance, and financial sustainability. Submit your views online on the Consultation website by 15 June 2026

Grants of between £300 – £500 are available to support activities or sessions that encourage more young people to be active this summer.

If you run a weekly activity for 4 or 5 weeks between late July to the end of August you could be eligible for the Active Rother programme, with Rother Sports Development,

Our small grants scheme is for sport groups or organisations that work with young people in the district and who might wish to offer a new activity or extend a current sports activity they are running.

Lodge your interest by midnight on Sunday 17 May.

Local Elections - Thursday, 7th May is polling day for the County Council Elections, Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm. Don't forget you must take photo ID to vote in person at Robertsbridge Village Hall
