| Seven men have today been sentenced to a combined 174 years in prison for the horrific sexual abuse of two vulnerable girls in between 2001 and 2006.
Their convictions follow a complex investigation led by GMP’s Child Sexual Exploitation Major Investigations Team (CSE MIT). The survivors showed immense courage by giving painful and powerful testimony, helping bring their abusers to justice.
This is part of Operation Lytton, GMP’s ongoing commitment to securing justice for survivors of child sexual exploitation. So far, 12 offenders have been jailed for a total of more than 200 years, with more trials scheduled.
DCI Guy Laycock, Senior Investigating Officer, said: “These men preyed on vulnerability for their own depraved gain. The survivors’ bravery has been extraordinary, and today is about them. Our team has worked tirelessly to support them and bring these offenders to justice.”
Time is no barrier to justice. Support is available.
